On December 14th, OH decided to phone and ask for Terms & Conditions on MBNA card with a view to making a complaint about mis sold ppi. He did not give any reasons for mis sale and they said they would send a form for him to fill in.

Today he received a letter upholding his complaint???
    They have offered him £4,159:j

He made 5 other phone calls that day about 4 other credit cards and 1 loan-hope they will all be as easy!!;)

Did you fill out any forms etc?

I rang MBNA just before christmas (23rd) regarding my credit card. I have held this card since 1996. They said they will investigate and will send a letter shortly. I have had quite a lot of credit on this card since then.

My OH had had card from 1994. He only phoned them to get terms and conditions and was expecting a form to fill in. He didn't have any staments and closed the account in 2009 although he hadn't used it for some time before that.
    His offer was
total amount of ppi premiums since sale date:£2003.70
total amount ofinterest associated with ppi:£875.48
    total amount 8% interest £1,280.35
    Total amount payable £4,159.53

Cheque to be sent within nxt 28 days

Think the interest is a bit low but we have no way of checking monthly amounts.
    Hope that helps

  • Hi just an update, on my second and final (unless I can find anymore !! lol) PPI reclaim.

    Firstplus won £6k

Tesco - remembered I had loan in 2004 and paid it off early in 2005, had no paperwork whatsoever couldnt even remember if we had PPI on the loan !. 4/10/11 Sent them a letter giving my and my hubby's full names, date of birth and address, said i thought that had missold due to front loading, not explain pre-existing medical conditions etc etc.
Today received letter with offer of just over £1k !!! :j what a result.
My advice is to try it no matter how little details you have, it was definately worth 10 minutes typing a letter, an envelope and 2nd class stamp !!:):):money:

:j:j got cheque on 22nd December ... well done Tesco - 10 weeks from start to finish, with no account numbers or details provided to them :j:j
  • Hi all! Just thought that I would share my success as you have all been instrumental in it actually happening :)

What were you reclaiming:! PPI on my credit card
    Who was the provider:!Barclaycard
How much did you get back:! £1,300
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:! Online application through Barclaycard website.
And then write your brief reclaim tale: When I applied for my bank account it was suggested that I apply for a credit card as a bundle deal. I was told that as I had been out of the country for a little while I needed to take PPI to ensure that my application was successful. After chatting with some friends and of course lots of reading up on moneysavingexpert I decided that I had been missold the product.
I used the online Barclaycard PPI complaint proforma and then sat and waited for a while. They stayed in contact and provided me a reply by cut-off. They had decided not to uphold my complaint as there was no evidence of a mis-sold product (!)
I began drafting a letter to the Ombudsman but just before I sent the letter a second letter came through from Barclaycard saying that they had decided to uphold my complaint and would transfer the money by BACS if I agreed to consider the complaint resolved.
I have waited until the funds actually went into my account before celebrating – I'm not sure why two letters were written but I'm glad about the final outcome.

GRRRRRR - following my 'success' in reclaiming my PPI from LLOYDS, I am now 102 days and counting from the offer letter and still no payment,, have been fobbed off with endless excuses,, 'we apologise' - 'we're really busy' - 'you'll get payment soon' - it's the bank that's losing out' etc etc.... Apologies, not good enough - Being busy, not an excuse - and as for the bank losing out, had they not taken my money under false pretences in the first place then there would be nothing for them to loose. Just how long does it take to arrange a BACS transfer when they have already worked out the amount, just another excuse for LLOYDS to hold onto the money. I have been promised several times that it's now in the hands of the payments section and transfer will be soon, SOON!!!!!! I think not, how long is acceptable to wait, what happened to 28 days from offer that turned into 56 days from offer and now appears to be infinate.....ANGRY is'nt the word...............

My claim 10 June, upheld July, offer 9 October, letter from AB dated 22 Dec promising payment within a few days but interest calculated to 22 January!!!! Quite possibly not received within a few weeks, never mind days......

No reasons for delay, no excuses, just Lloyds way of handling this mess.

    Hi
I put a claim in on behalf of my Daughter and Son in Law and they have just phoned to say they have received an offer from LLoyds this morning.
Can I ask if they can safely assume the offer will be for the correct amount?
I've just read the last couple of posts and it would appear it can take ages for Lloyds to actually stump up! Is this the norm?
Thanks in advance for any advice
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.
