Just to let everyone know I made a claim against a mis-sold PPI policy from the Halifax. I actually had claimed of the policy after having a stroke in 2001. Halifax have agreed to pay back £1476.04 in premiums + 8% interest of £1686.56 less previously paid out claim of £2400.00 making a net payment of £762.60. All i did was phone the Halifax and complained over the phone - no letter required and in about 10 weeks they have made me this offer. So even when you claim successfully of a policy you can still seek compensation for it being mis-sold. Hope you find this helpful.
    This is helpful,thank you.
    :beer:Well done on your win.
  • hi folks, trying to fill out the Ombudsman ppi Questionnaire, any tips on how to fill it out best?
  • Hi all,

5 weeks ago I received an offer from Natwest with regards to a PPI Claim which I excepted, I have just checked my bank account and noticed that a payment has gone in from them but it is not for the full amount they offered. Has anyone else experienced this? I can't call them now as their call centre is only open office hours.

This could be the interest payment, best to check with them tomorrow.
  • Thanks amersall. I thought that but are they allowed to not pay the interest? I assumed that the offer I accepted would be the payment that I would get. It is a random figure that they have paid me short.

The offer you were made should be the refund into your bank, did you have any calculations for the refund?,this could be the 8% amount they have given you,or the loan redress and the 8% interest will follow later.
The interest on the ppi is included in the monthly ppi payment you made that they give you,so check your figures, other than that, they will tell you if you ring them tomorrow.

Hi can someone please tell me where to locate the template letter questionnaire for ppi claims?
  • Thanks again amersall. I have looked at the figures and the underpayment that they have made is less than the interest value minus the tax. All a bit confusing........ I will be calling them at 8am tomorrow to find our for sure.

I to made a complaint against Natwest for mis-sold PPI on a loan and i was successful. And best of all it only took one of the templates i found on this website. This also happened to me, when i called and spoke to them about it i was told i had to wait atleast a full week after receiving my first payment from them as sometimes they make more than one payment. I had an offer from them for £3666.86, so when i received a payment of £3126 i too was baffled, Then the very next day i received a payment of £546. I called them a few days later to see what was happening they explained that the initial payment was the refund of the ppi i had paid to date and the second payment was the interest and extra charges as i had to wait 10 weeks for my payment to process. So might be worth checking the bank again tomorrow. good luck, hope it doesnt take too long for you to recover all of your offer.

Just have to say a big thank you to martin for his templates as i was just about to return the forms to a claim handling company, until i stumbled upon his website. we have now used our refund to book our wedding in cyprus for next year :)
