  • good on you gaffer but my claims ran very smoothly with lloyds everything done on time and payout even earlier so u are not alone but i guess we just might be the very few lucky ones.
we still bank at lloydstsb and we have no bad history with them this just might have helped.still got some outstanding but we sure aint moaning.
  • I too am one of the those still afflicated with being a LTSB customer. Although I have some history with them - all their own making i hasten to add. They should not be treating people like this.

If only it was as simple as going to a branch to get your money rather than having to jump thru hoops.

Lloyds should have sold the product correctly in the 1st place then they would not be in this pickle with customers shouting at them over the phone. I have not raised my voice once yet.

Can someone advise me what the phone advisers on the PPI Lloyds helpline do? I have phoned them weekly since my claim was settled and I feel like I am no further forward.

I briefly mentioned my successful claim on a previous post (December 2nd) but here are the full details.

What were you reclaiming: 3 loans, each consolidating the previous. The first loan started in 2001, the latest is still running.

Who was the provider: Nat West

How much did you get back: £748 £4,200 £4,500, (£9450 total)

Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent brief letter and the FSO template questionnaire.

And then write your brief reclaim tale:

16th September sent FSO questionnaire and letter. RBS rejected it saying Loan account number was incorrect.

28th September Resent FSO questionnaire and letter with correct account number. RBS rejected it saying Loan account number was not recognised.

8th October Resent FSO questionnaire and letter, with a print out of the loan account number (which is still active), and the branch name and sort code where loan was taken out.

    12th October RBS acknowledge claim

14th November Nat West cancel the PPI and restructure existing loan.

18th November RBS return original questionnaire (dated stamp 12th October) and say they are investigating my claim and issue me with a reference number.

2nd December RBS send offer letters on the 3 loans promising to credit my account within 28 days of them receiving signed acceptance. (Offer letters signed and returned the same day, first class recorded delivery).

10th December RBS text receipt of the acceptance letters and confirm payment will be made within 28 days.

19th December £609 out of £748 from loan 1 is paid into my Account. A confirmation text was also received. (I believe the outstanding £139 which is compensatory interest will be sent as a cheque by post). I’m Just waiting for the other claims to be paid out.

Too be fair to RBS, the whole process has been running slowly but smoothly (compared to a lot of stories I have read on here). The hardest part is the waiting, but it is worth the wait when you get a good result.

The overall process is easy and can be done without the use of claims management companies, if you think you’ve got a claim go ahead and claim.

Didn't receive my letter 9/12 so emailed back the person dealing with my account asking her to ring me, she did the same day. My estimate is £5800 told her I really need the money to pay my bills and don't see why I have to wait 40 days when I have a Barclays account it could be paid straight into. She said she would resend the letter and ask the payout dept to rush through my payment & if I had any further problems to contact her. Fingers crossed, I'll let you know.

Pestered the person dealing with my claim emailed her every other day got paid yesterday 19/12 £5896 into my account it took 9 weeks to get my money back whoop whoop  roll on the Chrimbo Fest  Thanks Martin

  • Hi there,

Just after some advice really! I took out a £9,000 flexible loan from Cahoot online in 2005. The loan is now handled by Santander. I called Cahoot recently and was told abruptly that I had not taken out PPI on the loan - when I called Santander seemed quite vague about the loan. I pay the loan off monthly, and dont get any paper statements.

I recently wrote off to Cahoot and Santander for the T&C's of the loan - which I got today in the post from Santander. The document seems quite vague, with no mention of PPI. Should I pursue this further? Should I ask for a statement from Santander?

    Many thanks :-)

Anybody had any problems claiming this before? I went a week by the 16weeks deadline and still hadnt heard anything a letter appears from them offering me a goodwill gesture of £1500.00 as they cant be bothered looking back at what i had actually paid. Anyway i rejected this as i had been paying PPI for over ten years and had a balance most of that time. So i reckon i paid about £30-50 a month so there is no way you would accept £1500. Do they have to work to a deadline?
  • i had to wait 40 days i then compained bitterly it was escalated ,then i was given payment on 15th dec paid interest to22dec ,had to phone between times to the tune of £45 but ive now complained about that hope to get the telephone charges refunded as well lol! keep at them they are taking the p big time, hope ypu get yours soon;)
  • Had a brief call witha guy at Tesco's who stated that my case has been worked on and that i will be getting full refund plu interest on my case.

He quoted the figure of £4513 but i think this may be too low considering the sums i was paying at the time.

I have requested a full breakdown per month on the premiums + simple interest for the period to see how they got to this figure.

    Well keep you updated.
