    Hi there,

Just after some advice really! I took out a £9,000 flexible loan from Cahoot online in 2005. The loan is now handled by Santander. I called Cahoot recently and was told abruptly that I had not taken out PPI on the loan - when I called Santander seemed quite vague about the loan. I pay the loan off monthly, and dont get any paper statements.

I recently wrote off to Cahoot and Santander for the T&C's of the loan - which I got today in the post from Santander. The document seems quite vague, with no mention of PPI. Should I pursue this further? Should I ask for a statement from Santander?

    Many thanks :-)
Hi there, you need to get a statement for this account,if ppi is on there it will show.

Anybody had any problems claiming this before? I went a week by the 16weeks deadline and still hadnt heard anything a letter appears from them offering me a goodwill gesture of £1500.00 as they cant be bothered looking back at what i had actually paid. Anyway i rejected this as i had been paying PPI for over ten years and had a balance most of that time. So i reckon i paid about £30-50 a month so there is no way you would accept £1500. Do they have to work to a deadline?
There are no deadlines anymore, the banks do as they please these days, even the regulators cannot make them jump.

Do you have paperwork to show you paid ppi?, you should have monthly statements showing what you paid.
If you have the statements, copy them and send them in ask them to look at this again.

This is similar to a credit card, they may only go back 6 years.

  • Cheque through for my girlfriend yesterday morning for £1100. Within the last 2 weeks that's £1900 worth of offers through. Thanks to everyone for your help.

Yesterdays cheque was from Lloyds. Apprently they sent a letter dated 5/12/11 saying the claim had been upheld but we never got it. Just the cheque that arrived yesterday. Putting it in today. Lovely early Xmas present :)

  • This will make you chuckle!! I rang Lloyds PPI claim line again yesterday to see where my refund was, after all it's been escalated 3 times, surely that would do the trick. After 10 minutes of being given the usual script of backlog, no timescale, it's with our admin/refund/calculation/review (delete as appropriate) team, I asked to speak to a Manager or Supervisor, after some time of listening to the dreadful hold music, the SAME woman came back on the phone and said she was a manager and read the same script as before!!!!

Am I genuinely missing something, I've had my letter early in November upholding my claim and setting out refund amount (5,694) and saying that they were going to pay this as priority(which obviously differs from my idea of priority), I don't think there should be any reason why this money isn't forthcoming, or is there another form or letter I should have received, which LLoyds have forgotten to mention. I did get told yesterday that they were looking into why it hadn't been paid - I don't care why it hasn't been, I simply want to know when it will be!!!! Any similar experiences or advice would be much appreciated.
  • Sounds the same as the responses I get been waiting since september:mad: I am going to ring them one more time tomorrow, and tell them they can keep it, as I wanted the money for christmas, so no point now
  • Just spoke to the financial ombudsman, and they said if i make a complaint it will delay my claim by another 8 weeks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
