    Many congratulations iounowt :T :snow_grin
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)
  • Congratulations to all the winners. Great to hear the success stories.

Still heard nothing further from Citi or FOS, despite being told by FOS my claim would be calculated and reimbursed by last Fiday. Perhaps they have all gone on Christmas holidays. Would have been great to have had the money by christmas, or at least known how much to expect, but looking more and more like it wont happen now.
  • Got home today to find a nice cheque for 13K from MBNA one phone call 4 weeks ago and paid out month later
Hats off to mbna for good service now waiting on Barclaycard

    happy days

  • The original loan and PPI was taken with First National Bank, Pinnacle were the insurers.
I start my PPI claim on the basis that GE Money bought First National Bank.
I followed the MoneySavingExpert advise and requested a statement from GE Money for the PPI claim, sent the funds for the request.
They send the statement and state that due to the loan being more than 10 years ago, they do not have the credit agreement and in fact the company was taken over by Pacific Home Loans. And if I can not get hold of them I should ask the FSA. But no responsibility lies with them.
Now, this is the part I do not understand?
If the loan was not with them how did they manage to send me the statements, but no agreement.
If you take a loan with Barclays, can Halifax send you the statement of the loan - no for DPA or am I dreaming?
Furthermore if they have the full statement for a loan taken out in 2001 how can they not have the agreement.
It gets worse the FLA state that I must write to the Pacific Home Loans to ask for the credit agreement.
I in turn point out the obvious. But how do GE Money have a full statement if they are not responsible for the loan.
I am still waiting for a response!
  • Just wanted to encourage others to claim using letters on this site. I claimed back some overdraft insurance from Barclays by logging complaint over the phone. After this success I looked at the letters available on this site and used them to write to Barclays about ppi paid on a loan in 2005 which we had repaid early. Was expecting them to offer £1500 at the most. We had a letter today saying that they had gone back through our loans over the years and so are going to refund £10600!! Thank you Martin Lewis!

We are awaiting final response from RBS mastercard for PPI paid on credit card, so will let you know what happens.

All this for just 2 postage stamps.

I successfully reclaimed PPI of £3,250 from LTSB earlier this year. This included interest compounded at the applicable rate on the CC.

My basis of complaint was that the PPI never explained at all nor its optional nature, I had the card for around 4 years prior to discovering the optional nature of it (I was somewhat younger and greener back then), it took a lot of calls and letters to get it removed. But it wasnt until I discovered charges reclaiming that I thought I would chance my arm at getting the PPI back.
Even if the PPI was explained it would have been useless to me given my job security and very generous death or illness benefits from my employer.

LTSB totally ostriched the whole thing, culminating in bailiffs going to their head office in London to demand payment.

Apologies for entering my post on your blog I'm new but it will wear off ...sorry
  • Hope I've done this right and posted in the right place

    HI ALL

This is my first post thanks to so many on here we attempted the ppi reclaim.

We had success with RBS MINT CC and NATWEST CC. £5000 in total. Happy days!!!

At the same time we did ppi reclaim on MBNA we were rejected but again with reading posts here we went FOS who upheld our claim!!!! We are now waiting for calculations this is where the question comes????

Opened account december 1996 still running Cancelled PPI in Oct 2008 after realising we didn't need it!!! I have worked out we have paid approx

£4000 in PPI over 12 years
APR on account averages 22.5% over 15 years

At the mo it is 34% on £8500

What could be the interest on this amount and what figure does the 8% simple per year interest go on.

Any similar cases would be great or anyone with a whole lot more understanding of it would be very much appreciated

We don't want to get hopes up but we're secretly hoping it could be a big one.

    Thanks in advance

    JUST OUR LUCK

    CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WITH SUCCESS!!!!
