I should be able to charge the banks everyday a fee for non payment, that would be good
The repayment will include daily interest upto the day they pay you. 8% is the norm.

I know how frustrating it is lord knows i have been there. You have to have faith and trust in them despite their faillings upto now. But what's more important is that you get onto them everyday to remind them that you will not give up and that you are still waiting. Email the CEO, Complain about your complaint, use say not to 0870 for the landline numbers when making calls.

You will get there in the end.

Who is going to put the banks in their place and make them pay out?
Well the court case that began all of this for one... Martin Lewis is a great champion to the cause... And finally you! You have to take control and like i said above keep on to them. Force a date out of them and ring back the day after if you still havent been paid. Take 10 minutes and read through the posts on this thread... There are many great nuggets of helpful suggestions, hints and tips.

    Goodluck.

Search PPI in the search box at the top of the page (make sure its says main site next in the drop down menu)

You'll find links for this site which will take you to PPI template letters which you can edit with your relevent information and print. You can even find contact names, addresses, numbers and email addresses for many of the credit card companies and financial insitutions.

    Hi, first post!
I have had a credit card for approx 15 years and have been paying PPI for sometime, possibly since day one. In my ignorance I paid the PPI as part of my monthly bill not knowing anything different. I complained 4 months ago stating I was mis sold the insurance as I wasn't even told about it, only that it appeared on my statement every month.
I have been fortunate to have received an offer from the bank/credit card issuer "as a gesture of goodwill and without any admission of liability" but they state this offer was based on "refund of premiums paid between 07 August 2001 and 07 November 2011".

This credit card had been in existance long before 07 August 2001. Can anyone please dvise if I should count my blessings and accept the offer given OR fight for the possibility of a larger refund.

Sorry if this appears greedy but I don't want the Bank to get "another" one over me!!

    Thanks in anticipation! TBR50
This is a very good offer!!!,usually they only go back 6 years for refunds.
As this is a goodwill gesture it is good they are going back 10 years,
If you have statements showing ppi from before this, you could ask them to look at these.

Well done on your win though :j

I'm confussed as to why we may be going into a ressision after christmas. Surely with so many getting these refunds that more and more will be spending money they otherwise would'nt have.

Maybe i have missed the point or clearly don't understand any of it like i thought i did.

Would anyone like to educate me? Please!
I think people will careful what they spend this year, there are job losses and no pay rises again for most,my hubby has not had a payrise for 3 years and it looks like he wont get one next year either :(
There is worse to come next year and i think folks will spend wisely, after all, utilitys still need paying, insurances and food ect.

But it will be a happy xmas for all the ppi winners, make the most of the moment.

Ok, here is timeline for my Barclays claim on credit card ppi.

Oct - Dec 2010. Complaint letters sent to Barclays, none of which were acknowledged.
Dec 2010. Sent off forms to FOS, as 8 weeks had passed.

Jan 2011. Assigned an adjudicator at FOS
Mar 2011. Letter from FOS informing me of delays, due to the judicial review
Jul 2011. Letter from FOS, regarding the High Court's ruling. Also, assigned a new adjudicator!
Aug 2011. Rang FOS, who informed me that my claim had been rejected.

Aug - Sep 2011. Numerous emails/phone calls to FOS and Barclays with information as to why, I believed, their decision was wrong.

Sep 2011. Phone call from Barclays Directors Office, who said they were investigating my case again.

Oct 2011. Decision reversed and complaint upheld. Received letter from FOS, which stated that Barclays would be in contact with an offer. They have 8 weeks to pay out.

Dec 2011. To date, still waiting for the offer. Have until 21st December before I contact FOS again. Emailed CEO of Barclays today, as it's getting beyond a joke.

Looking like 2012 before I see any money! I will keep you posted.

Well, would you believe it? A Christmas gift was waiting for me yesterday evening, when I arrived home from work. This being an envelope containing a Barclays offer of ppi refunds and interest, totalling £6,383.94! My wife couldn't believe it and neither could I. Good to end the year on a high!

And I will say once again, it's all down to the brilliant advice on this site. How the banks must hate MSE - long may it continue!
  • Brief history - Initial claim made August 2010. Put on hold due to High Court action. Finally received offer August this year and posted acceptance letter August 27th. Various dates promised by RBS to pay into my account but they did not keep their promises. Just received roughly half the amount into my account yesterday ie £11,000. Waiting now for other £11,000.

There is light at the end of the tunnel at last after sixteen months. Will keep you all posted. Hang on in there folks.:beer:
  • wopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! after 2 months of waiting cheque from halifax £8000 had to hassle them 3 times a week to get it though! good luck all still waiting it can happen eventually! happy xmas all xx
