  • hi all first post so be gentle, made my initial claim on the 12/07/11 got a final offer from halifax which was the only offer in full £1183.38 plus 8% intrest on 5/10/11 which i was very happy with, this letter went on to claim i would recieve a cheque for the full amount within 30 days and yes you guessed it i'm still waiting.rang them on friday 9th december and they said the cheque was issued on the 7th of december and sent to the ceo for distribution. realy angry now at being messed about, can i refuse to accept the cheque and get the ombudsman involved and claim compensation from them with intrest from the date i accepted their offer for withholding my money.if so how much longer will the claim take.
thanks in advance for any replies.
    bryan.

Success on recliaming PPI from Santander
    Used Template from this site
Sent by recorded post on 8th Nov
Had Telephone call from Santander 9th Nov stating they were upholding claim
Comfirmation Letter of above recieved 15th Nov
Redress letter recieved today the 29th of Nov, total to be repaid £6833.94
They say to allow two weeks for repayment, yeahhhy
If it comes before christmas great, if not it will ease the January blues, as it will help reduce our out goings for next year.
I claimed on current loan and those payments are now reduced, but they even included redress for the loan that preceeded this,
Was very skeptical about reclaiming, but pressure from my husband and encouragement from reading the forums on this site really convinced me, Thank you all so much.
Both loans had PPI loaded up front (think i describe that right) the second was meant to be in both mine and my husbands names and had letter stating this, but when policy arrived was in husbands name only, the first had PPI added for only the first three years of a five year loan.
Good luck to all those waiting and to those yet to claim x

    Hi carolnee

just wondering if you had your payment yet from Santander. I sent my form back on 7th December accepting their offer, and yes they say two weeks to process, but was just wondering if you got your yet?

    thx

Well its arrived in my account this morning.

    Refund from hfc bank £3710.89

Sent the letter in august, had a reply within a week saying they were investigating and then 12 weeks later an offer which was returned on the 8th November 5 or 6 sleepless nights worrying if the money would arrive and it did today 5 working days after they made the transfer.

all thinks to this forum, di and a simple little letter.

next on the horizon, egg and hopefully a merry Christmas.

good luck to all those in the process
  • Hi,

I had a win with norther rock and they said I would receive my money into my back account 28 days from the day they received the acceptance form - it did go in about 20 days after the acceptance form went off.
  • I had a complaint in about a loan I had with front loaded PPI with Paragon Personal Finance.

They have advised they cannot deal and have referred me to the underwriters, Combined Life Assurance.

Has anyone had any dealings with this company. Do you know who the CEO is? I have found only limited information online but did manage to get an address which hopefully is correct!!

    Thanks in advance:A
  • Hello again. Had some good news of a £12k payout last week which I posted here. MBNA have duplicated my claim and the process of raising the payment has been delayed. However, they have confirmed the claim on my second card at £5.5k !! Payment within 2 weeks. That'll learn 'em......
  • PPI on loan from RBS.

I cancelled PPI when I started my DMP but had already paid 5 months worth.

I phoned RBS Oct 26th 2011 & received an offer of £680.94 today. Didn't even need to submit letter - they just took the details over the phone!

    Thank you Martin.:A
  • Anyone thinking about whether to claim for PPI - there is nothing to think about, just do it. I originally had a friends PPI claims company write to my bank but heard nothing back for 2 months, so I told them to stop the process and I'll do it myself. After reading the forums on here I started my own claim back in August with Lloyds for 2 loans I had going back 8 years. They replied 2 weeks later saying the claim was being processed. Then 12 weeks later (late November) I got a letter offering me a refund of £4750 - all from just 1 simple letter and 2 claim forms taken from this website. This has made my year, I am now healthily back in the black and my children will be having a very merry christmas!

    Thank you so much moneysavingexpert.com

Can anyone Advise?! EGG CREDIT CARD
I called Barclaycard about my egg account, and they have no details on me whatsoever, and say because the account is not active and I dont owe money on the egg card, when they took over from Egg, they didnt recieve my information. Egg wont take calls, i have no details on my account except that I know I had a card with them. I dont know what else to do to get my CC details?!? Barclays said write a letter to HQ, but... what are they going to do? I said if they dont have my details there on the phone, why would HQ have them? Im kinda stuck, and have to start trawling through the 1200 pages of this thread to see if anyone else has come up with this problem! Any advise very much appreciated!!

EDIT Just realised im not suppose to ask questions here, will repost in the other thread but any advise is still appreciated!
