I rang LTSB up in September asking them to look at all my loans I've ever had..... Got 2 letters a couple of weeks ago, one of them was regarding 3 loans with a refund amount of £2900 and the other was regarding a loan where I claimed on the ppi and because the amount off ppi I paid was less than the amount I received when I claimed, then I won't be getting anything. The refund letter says that it will be paid into my bank account then shows the sort code and account number. I currently have a new loan with them that has just been took out. I hope they do pay into my account and not pay it off my current loan, it's a totally separate new loan and when I rang them they said that if it says in the letter that it's going into you account then it is.... I've saw a few post from people who are wondering the same as me.... But surely the banks would be loosing more money if they decrease their customers current loans??? My letter said that the interest will be paid until Dec 14th so I'm hoping to get my cash then but ain't holding my breath, they told me to ring back if I hadn't received it by 14th.... Funny how the easiest part of the claim takes the longest....

Sorry to burst the bubble a wee bit ... congrats on your win but LTSB sent me a letter stating the interest would be calculated upto 5th December - I have not received any money yet and they are not recalculating the interest again. They also said that there are some payments still kicking around since July that have not been paid.

All they can tell me is that it will be paid in due course, the Ombudsman said it may take @12 weeks to be paid & said if they got involved it may delay the process further.
  • Thanks for your post. I complained to Lloyds tsb about ppi on a credit card. I just had a letter back that basically said they can't help me because i must have read, understood and signed the terms because i signed the paperwork in the bank. Have i still got a good chance to appeal? My point was that it wasn't explained very clearly and it wasn't really neccessary.

    Rejection from Egg,

A final response with an opportunity of coming back to them if I wanted to, not really final then was it?

Have returned my rejection of rejection to them quoting FSA guidebook about not rejecting just because "box was ticked".

    Fingers crossed .

    :(
  • Some may recall in earlier posts how I had claimed PPI mis sell against Paragon. They claimed that a firm called Acorn were responsible. But they had ceased trading so the FSCS got involved and sent claim to Deloitte to sort out. But what a shambles - Here is the sequence that has wasted nearly 3 months of my life -

    Series of events:-

I discuss complaint about Paragon with FSCS 29.09.11 as Paragon claim a firm called Acorn were responible for the sale of the PPI
Complaint forms sent to me and completed and sent back to FSCS as Acorn don't trade
25.10.11 - forms sent to Deliotte by FSCS
Deloitte write to me for more info and I sent ASAP
Deliotte concerned that I was in an IVA - I explain that the loan was not part of my SUCCESSFUL IVA, bUt they still insist that they need a letter from my IVA Company stating that I could keep all of the monies owed when paid out
With great pain involved as DFD did not want to do this I eventually get the letter and send to Deliotte
14.11.11 - Good news in the letter from Deliotte - They tell me they are processing the complaint
09.12.11 - I receive a letter from FSCS saying that unfortunately I am not eligible to claim as the loan was pre 2005? Yes, I know this as this was on the loan agreement I sent!! WOW!!! Who missed this at the beginning of all of this as they have now wasted 2 and a bit months of my claim time. I now have to start over and go back to Paragon to ask for a final response before I get the FOS involved. This has been unacceptable and someone needs to be held accountable for this error.

    Not a happy bunny

On a postive note RBS offered me 2,600 for a PPI claim, so happy with that - Onwards and upwards:T

Hi , Maybe a silly question but how did Deloittes or the FSCS know you were in an IVA anyway ?? Do they check your credit history before any payments sent out or did you just tell them this infromation when you made the claim ??

Well done on your win, it would be lovely if you could bank your cheque before Christmas. At least you know it is on it's way to you. ;)
  • Just thought I would share the joy - got our £17k from Loans.co.uk paid into our account this morning!!! :T:T:T Started the process in May 11, emailed them the acceptance forms last Tuesday & money in account today!! Really can't complain about Loans.co.uk, they've been nothing but helpful and friendly whenever I've rung them. Have recently started ball rolling on c/cards (about 6!) so fingers crossed! Good luck to everyone else claiming
Keep Smiling :D - It makes people wonder what you're up to!!!
  • got a cheque fron egg for 4k lets hope the ombudsman dose the trick with my credit card one.
  • Just to let all MBNA customers know how simple it is to claim PPI, two weeks ago I decided to contact my credit card company direct via their contact phone number, I simply enquired " I would like some advice on claiming back my PPI" I was amazed at how polite and helpful the lady on the phone was, after answering the usual security questions she accessed my account details and asked me a few simple questions to confirm why I was claiming PPI i.e. was I mis sold it ! she then informed me that a claim would be opened with the PPI department.
1 week later a letter arrived to confirm a claim had been made, then 5 days later (today) I recieved a letter stating my claim had been upheld and a cheque for a total of £6022 will be sent to me with 28 days !
How easy was that ? so to all MBNA customers please do not waste time claiming through a claims company... simply get on the phone & do it yourself .
