I think the FOS have got thoroughly fed up with me today as I have rung them 3 times. First time to say nothing heard and they said that they would email Bank of Scotland to chase. I found PPI complaints number for BOS and spoke to a helpful lady who said nothing on their system under my name at all. So rang FOS .... spoke to supervisor - it will be Lloyds now. Rang Lloyds .. same answer, no nothing on their system etc... Rang back the FOS and they are going to look into it. I said someone must have said they would settle the claim as the FOS sent me the letter.
On a more positive note I decided to find all the Citi statements and work out the PPI paid. While looking for all the paperwork found a loan agreement for a Barclays Loan in 2002 that Barclays couldn't trace any paperwork for. So have completed the FOS questionnaire to send off.

  • Some may recall in earlier posts how I had claimed PPI mis sell against Paragon. They claimed that a firm called Acorn were responsible. But they had ceased trading so the FSCS got involved and sent claim to Deloitte to sort out. But what a shambles - Here is the sequence that has wasted nearly 3 months of my life -

    Series of events:-

I discuss complaint about Paragon with FSCS 29.09.11 as Paragon claim a firm called Acorn were responible for the sale of the PPI
Complaint forms sent to me and completed and sent back to FSCS as Acorn don't trade
25.10.11 - forms sent to Deliotte by FSCS
Deloitte write to me for more info and I sent ASAP
Deliotte concerned that I was in an IVA - I explain that the loan was not part of my SUCCESSFUL IVA, bUt they still insist that they need a letter from my IVA Company stating that I could keep all of the monies owed when paid out
With great pain involved as DFD did not want to do this I eventually get the letter and send to Deliotte
14.11.11 - Good news in the letter from Deliotte - They tell me they are processing the complaint
09.12.11 - I receive a letter from FSCS saying that unfortunately I am not eligible to claim as the loan was pre 2005? Yes, I know this as this was on the loan agreement I sent!! WOW!!! Who missed this at the beginning of all of this as they have now wasted 2 and a bit months of my claim time. I now have to start over and go back to Paragon to ask for a final response before I get the FOS involved. This has been unacceptable and someone needs to be held accountable for this error.

    Not a happy bunny

On a postive note RBS offered me 2,600 for a PPI claim, so happy with that - Onwards and upwards:T

I took out a personal loan with barclays in 2003 for £10,000, I was working full time and explained to sales person that I got paid from work if off ill 6mths full pay 6mths half pay but felt I wasn't goin to get the loan and just signed. I was paying £268 a month in repayments in 2007 I had to resolve the loan after being off work sick with stress for a long period for which my employer paid me. I had to reduce my hours at work and fell into arrears on my loan, I sort help from the bank the member of staff who I saw that day pointed out that the PPI was of no use to me and removed from the loan. The loan was resolved and after 4 years I still owed the bank £7000, granted I was in arrears for a few months and interest was added but this can't be right.
I downloaded the ppi questionnaire from this site and sent it to barclays early October 2011 I had a response within 2weeks giving me a reference number and that they were looking into it. I got made redundant this year and am a bit desperate so I contacted the CEO by email on the 5/12/11 and got a response today 8/12 from them saying that my claim has been upheld and they posted a letter to me on 2/12 and I will be paid out within the next 40 days. Dont know how much i'm getting until the letter arrives but anything will be a bonus right now. I'll let you know how much and when I get it. Thanx Martin x

Didn't receive my letter 9/12 so emailed back the person dealing with my account asking her to ring me, she did the same day. My estimate is £5800 told her I really need the money to pay my bills and don't see why I have to wait 40 days when I have a Barclays account it could be paid straight into. She said she would resend the letter and ask the payout dept to rush through my payment & if I had any further problems to contact her. Fingers crossed, I'll let you know.

Good afternoon does anybody know whats going on with Barclays at the minute i have rang numerous times to ask about the progress of my claim only to be to three different stories in four days ,one person told me i could be waiting another 5 weeks eeeeekkkkk:eek: even though the full 40 working days are up next week i am getting really frustrated with all the lies we are being told!obviously some are just speaking from a script!i think i would have better luck getting my money out of the ole ebenezer scrooge bah humbug!!!!:p
    Hi Moggy2009
email them robert.diamond@barclaysplc.com (CEO Barclays) quoting your ref number & your situation ask them to ring you save on expensive phone calls. I got a quick response this way and it puts one person in charge of your complaint. After not receiving a letter they said they'd sent to me I emailed and asked them to ring me and they did the same day. There has been lots of complaints to them about late payments and she said there's large backlog but I think pester power could pay off. Goodluck.
  • Just rejected my rejection from Santander!

Asked them to reverse their "final decision" on basus my complaint was the same as the one they upheld !!

    Fingers crossed:cool:
