PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

What were you reclaiming: loan PPI
Who was the provider: Lloyds TSB
How much did you get back: £2231.57 :j
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Two letters
And then write your brief reclaim tale: I knew that I had mis-sold PPI a number of years ago as I had never taken PPI since then. I had a credit card with just over 9.5K on it from Lloyds TSB and one day while in another branch, I was asked to hand it over whereupon it was destroyed and I was taken into an office to have a discussion with another bank clerk. I was offered a 3 year loan to pay it off and was told that I must take PPI etc etc. However, I paid the loan off a year early and never thought anything more about it until my father told me of his PPI success with Santander and that he had used the MSE form. I sent off my claim and Lloyds cheekily said I never had PPI on my claim - I didn't have the loan number in my original application so they were telling the truth but were also being rather disingenuous - they quoted one of the loan account numbers, which didn't have PPI. Some may have given up at that point and it was rather sneaky of them. I phoned LLoyds and the helpful woman in the loans team told me the Loan no with PPI on it. I re-submitted a form and explicitly told them it was that particular loan I wished to claim against - did this on the 21st September 2011 and received offer on the 7th December 2011 - 10 weeks exactly. I presume the money will go straight into my account as I have no loans or credit cards but won't hold my breath any time soon. DON'T GIVE UP PEOPLE!!0 -

But they had ceased trading so the FSCS got involved and sent claim to Deloitte to sort out. But what a shambles - Here is the sequence that has wasted nearly 3 months of my life -
Series of events:-
I discuss complaint about Paragon with FSCS 29.09.11 as Paragon claim a firm called Acorn were responible for the sale of the PPI
Complaint forms sent to me and completed and sent back to FSCS as Acorn don't trade
25.10.11 - forms sent to Deliotte by FSCS
Deloitte write to me for more info and I sent ASAP
Deliotte concerned that I was in an IVA - I explain that the loan was not part of my SUCCESSFUL IVA, bUt they still insist that they need a letter from my IVA Company stating that I could keep all of the monies owed when paid out
With great pain involved as DFD did not want to do this I eventually get the letter and send to Deliotte
14.11.11 - Good news in the letter from Deliotte - They tell me they are processing the complaint
09.12.11 - I receive a letter from FSCS saying that unfortunately I am not eligible to claim as the loan was pre 2005? Yes, I know this as this was on the loan agreement I sent!! WOW!!! Who missed this at the beginning of all of this as they have now wasted 2 and a bit months of my claim time. I now have to start over and go back to Paragon to ask for a final response before I get the FOS involved. This has been unacceptable and someone needs to be held accountable for this error.
Not a happy bunny
On a postive note RBS offered me 2,600 for a PPI claim, so happy with that - Onwards and upwards:T
This is the only way to deal with this,as FOS cant help you at this stage either, although they may help you find the insurer.
:jwell done on your win :money:0 -
My husband has just received an upheld letter from M&S on a closed loan account. They have asked for bank details and an uptodate statement to prove these bank details to have the monies paid into the account.
Could anyone let me know if they have had an upheld claim from M & S on a loan, and how long it took for the claim to be paid out from when they received the acceptance.0 -
Did you take ppi on the Swift loan too?,as they may be doing a refund on both and need the Swift loan figures to reset.
If you did not have ppi on the Swift loan, then they need the rebate figure of the CP loan that Swift gave to them out of your Swift loan, this will reduce your redress by this rebate of ppi amount.0 -
