I believe its the same one as Lloyds fo BOS, but it will not allow to post up the CEO email addy on here anymore.
So the FOS are saying its Citi and not Opus then? ;)

Thanks for the reply. When I spoke to FOS last week they said I had to wait until this Friday and then they will chase them. I do wonder how speedy their "chasing" will be!
I rang Opus last week as well but they said that, as I had sent it to FOS they would not talk to me - only FOS. I tried to explain the letter saying I was being made a full refund but they wouldn't budge.

The FOS letter definitely says Citi will be making me an offer but it was Opus that put it on hold. They all seem to be buck passing. Perhaps I will hear more tomorrow (but wont be holding my breath).

The FOS letter says complaint against the Bank of Scotland (Citi)
  • Hi all,, I am trying to help a friend fill a complaint form to claim PPI from a loan in 2007. He said they did tell him it was optional but at the time he had an ongoing back problem, he now has regular treeatment at hospital for it, he told the salesman about the illness but they didn't say anything about it, could he use this as a reason?. Thankyou, your a godsend you lot are =)
  • I had various loans and credit cards over the years that I paid PPI on.
When I left my wife, she got rid of all my stuff :(
How can I get details of my loan account numbers etc?

I started with a credit report (free from experian, just remember to cancel the free trial). I then contacted each company in turn, giving them my old address details, the dates opened and settled etc. and asked for the account numbers, copy of the agreement and so on. some companies are more forthcoming than others. Egg told me the details over the phone, as did MBNA. Halifax made me write to them, so did Tesco. The only one I'm struggling to get info from is Clydesdale.

    Good luck!
  • i have been trying to sort out my dads ppi claims .
on some accounts he is in arrears, when the company makes an offer do they just use the ppi payments they are refunding to pay off the arrears or can they also use the interest they have awarded.

also he had a loan that he paid ppi on and has been awarded a settlement figure for this. the loan was finished in whole but he has a c/c and a bank account with the same company . can they use this to pay his overdraft on bank account or the arrears on his c/c.

Simple answer is YES, they are entitled to recover any arrears from the redress and any surplus should come back to you

    Hi honey

I am getting there and thank you.:A:A

I have been a sufferer for years, but not as bad as these bouts for a long time.
As I suffer with high BP as well that doesn't help, and on 2 lots of medication for that, so I have to be careful what painkilling meds to take, so everything takes that bit longer to settle down.

Sorry to hear your son suffered these as well, the poor thing, my oldest son who is now 23 used to suffer badly as well, and its awful to see our kids suffer isnt it?

You and your family have a wonderful Christmas as well Sweetie, love to you all xxxx:beer::beer:

    :A:A:A:A:A

Yes it is horrible watching your children when they are poorly xx

Glad the migraines are settling down a little for you.

You have been missed on here babes, it's lovely to see you on here again.

    Take care. xx :rotfl::rotfl:

I started my claim two years 5 months ago using the forms on the moneysaving expert website.
I was mis-sold PPI on my Natwest credit card 22 years ago.
After 12 months of exchanging letters they offered me £2700 which were my last 6 years payments as a gesture of goodwill. I had originally estimated that they owed me £8000 but said that I would accept the £2700 if they gave me the 8% interest that would be added if the FSA supported me. That would have cost them £2916 but they refused and in effect challenged me to go to the FSA so I did.
As soon as I had applied to the FSA RBS offered me the 8% interest and the FSA tried to convince me that I should take it as if I refused and they did not find in my favour I would get nothing. By this time my heels were well and truly dug in so I said no I wanted the FSA to investigate.
Even though the FSA have time lines they were extended on both sides. I did not find the solicitor at the FSA particularly helpful in fact quite obstructive and in my view bias. He continually told me that he did not believe me or the evidence that I put to him but believed everything RBS said even though they were not able to supply evidence. I continually challenged this and his decisions that I did not have a claim and told him that I believed he was bias to the point where I think that he got fed up with me and went back to the RBS and asked them to reconsider their view without accepting liability.
Interestingly last week I got a cheque for £8000 which they could have given me over 2 years ago.
If you believe that you have a genuine case dont give up.

    Hi there

No harm in trying, afterall they did not say it would be worthless to him or said he would not be eligible due to a pre medical condition.

So basically you need to state that you now realise the cover was not suited and would be worthless to you (your friend), as they are not going to pay out for a pre-medical condition which now these problems are on-going where still having hospital treatment for the same condition now.
Add that as it was mentioned to the adviser they did not even advise against taking it out.

You need to act on the reasons of being mis sold and do not worry if they said it was optional, because they still allowed your friend to take this out when explained about the medical condition.
