I have just had an email from diamond Insurance upholding my PPI complaint.

They have offered me £210.00.....BUT this is only my premiums, are they supposed to compensate me by paying 8% interest per annum?

Well I complained to Diamond about the 8% per annum simple interest and all they are prepared to give me is 8% on the whole £210 which is an extra £16.

The is incorrect as each premium should be refunded at 8% per annum and mine are from 1998, with my rough calculations I should get £400 total.

They are not budging and say it is their final offer..... So FOS here I come:mad:
    Mortgage Feb 2015 £178,500 END 2043!!

    MFW 2015 £100 /£1000

Watch this space, my MF end date will tumble!!
  • Hoorah hoorah hoorah !!!! About a month ago a business contact mentioned to me that he knew a number of people who had made successful claims for PPI mis-selling, running into thousands of pounds. I made speculative claims on my 2 MBNA card accounts, thinking that I might get a grand or so back, eventually. I have to say I didn't use this site, but am very impressed with all the help and content here..
Anyway, I nearly fell over when I got an offer of £12k on one of the accounts, in the post today. £3k for the premiums, £8k for interest on premiums and £1500 statutory interest. It doesn't say the offer covers both cards, which were on nearly identical terms, so I may be on for another offer, who knows ?
Off to buy a lottery ticket now.........

I had various loans and credit cards over the years that I paid PPI on.
When I left my wife, she got rid of all my stuff :(
How can I get details of my loan account numbers etc?

    Hi

There are a few ways, try the free way first.

Call in at the branch if local to you and ask if they're able to track down the account numbers, even if the loans was not taken out with the bank, you would have paid your loan repayments every month with your bank and hopefully they will find the details you require with just using your bank account number.

If you bank online and still with the same bank now, this may allow you to go back to about 2002, the loan account number is normally shown next to the monthly repayment.

Do you still bank with the same bank now?

I will also suggest a Credit Report, but depending on how long you settled the accounts - they may still hold records of.
They normally hold data for the last 6 years, and if you google in Experian, or Equifax, or even Credit Report (UK) a few choices should come up, some are free for 30 days or you pay £2 for a full credit report.
A credit report should show details of all companies you have taken out credit with.

Was any of the loans joint with your ex?
If so it maybe the case that you may have to meet down the middle, but hopefully someone will clarify on this.

Another way is to request a Subject Access Request (SAR) template letter for this below, if you no longer have the account number of any of the accounts, but had so many accounts with the same business, then one SAR per company with a one off payment of £10 cheque or postal order. Then give them as many details as possible and write these details of all addresses you lived in whilst having the accounts with them and your date of birth in order for them to track down your accounts.

They have 40 calendar days to comply.
They normally hold details of the last 6 years, but in mine and many others experiences, we have also received data going back to even earlier years.

Hope this helps, but please be aware, just as long as you have the account number and think its possible you were paying and mis sold the PPI you can still try to make a reclaim.;)

    Hi honey

I am getting there and thank you.:A:A

I have been a sufferer for years, but not as bad as these bouts for a long time.
As I suffer with high BP as well that doesn't help, and on 2 lots of medication for that, so I have to be careful what painkilling meds to take, so everything takes that bit longer to settle down.

Sorry to hear your son suffered these as well, the poor thing, my oldest son who is now 23 used to suffer badly as well, and its awful to see our kids suffer isnt it?

You and your family have a wonderful Christmas as well Sweetie, love to you all xxxx:beer::beer:

Does anyone know the email address for Citi - Bank of Scotland? Think I'll start getting procative. Still can't find out if Citi or Opus are dealing with the issue, but FOS reply said Citi had agreed to settle it.

I believe its the same one as Lloyds fo BOS, but it will not allow to post up the CEO email addy on here anymore.
So the FOS are saying its Citi and not Opus then? ;)
