BARCLAYS - 2 out of 3 Claims are ongoing, 1 was rejected!
So Last week I decided to email Mr Diamond @ Barclays and send a letter off to the customer relations manager explaining why they should overturn their decision.
:rotfl:Funnily enough I received a call from one of his colleagues asking why I thought the decision was wrong - so I went through the whole process again and explained why/how the PPI had been mis-sold. She kindly listened to me and said that she would investigate my complaint in more detail.
Not really holding much hope on this one, however they are looking into the claim - so I must be thankful of that. Keep you posted on the progress. The other 2 claims have a deadline of 14th December, let's see what happens.0 -
I have just had an email from diamond Insurance upholding my PPI complaint.
They have offered me £210.00.....BUT this is only my premiums, are they supposed to compensate me by paying 8% interest per annum?Mortgage Feb 2015 £178,500 END 2043!!
MFW 2015 £100 /£1000
Watch this space, my MF end date will tumble!!0 -

Took out a Lombard loan with PPI in 1998. I got into into financial difficulties in 99 and wrote to cancel PPI. I received a letter back that it formed an integral part of the loan and could not be cancelled until the loan was paid off. I eventually paid the loan off by 2007 by amending the amount of the repayment drastically. I have all the paperwork, statements etc. I understand that they were taken over by RBS.
Two points
Can I still make a claim.
Does the liability pass to RBS.
Many thanks
I had a loan with Lombard dating back to 1994 and paid off in 1999. I had a copy of the laon details showing PPI was paid. I wrote to them saying that I was missold as I would have been covered by my emloyer and also, like you, was told that the PPI was part of the loan. I received a letter from RBS rejecting the claim due to the length of time since I paid off the poan - took it to the FOS and they upheld my complaint. I got back over £9000 after paying tax on the interest. Go ahead and complain - you may have to go to the FOS but it is worth it in the end. Good Luck.0 -
Ok, here is timeline for my Barclays claim on credit card ppi.
Oct - Dec 2010. Complaint letters sent to Barclays, none of which were acknowledged.
Dec 2010. Sent off forms to FOS, as 8 weeks had passed.
Jan 2011. Assigned an adjudicator at FOS
Mar 2011. Letter from FOS informing me of delays, due to the judicial review
Jul 2011. Letter from FOS, regarding the High Court's ruling. Also, assigned a new adjudicator!
Aug 2011. Rang FOS, who informed me that my claim had been rejected.
Aug - Sep 2011. Numerous emails/phone calls to FOS and Barclays with information as to why, I believed, their decision was wrong.
Sep 2011. Phone call from Barclays Directors Office, who said they were investigating my case again.
Oct 2011. Decision reversed and complaint upheld. Received letter from FOS, which stated that Barclays would be in contact with an offer. They have 8 weeks to pay out.
Dec 2011. To date, still waiting for the offer. Have until 21st December before I contact FOS again. Emailed CEO of Barclays today, as it's getting beyond a joke.
Looking like 2012 before I see any money! I will keep you posted.0 -

Hi to one and all and season Greetings
Been a while since I last posted but very pleased to see some of the old names are still on the forum offering up splendid advice still.
I was therefore hoping to gain some advice on a PPI reclaim from First Plus on behalf of a friend.
I seem to recall something about First PLus going belly up ? So if correct do I need to commence the procedure by complaining to the FSA/FOS much the same process as the Two Part, Picture stuff.
Ive had a look at the forum and others stories re First Plus but cant get a definitive.
Any advice.
Thanks. If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!!0 -

My husband and I took out Total Mortgage Protection with Halifax when we bought our house in April 2002. In January 2004 we cancelled the policy with Halifax and moved things elsewhere / cancelled the bits we didn't need at all.
I rang Halifax to make my claim for being mis-sold the policy, received a letter to say claim was valid then a short time later had a form to sign to say we would accept their settlement offer (the letter did not state what the settlement figure would be), we signed the letter and returned it. Four weeks later we received £4189.04!!!
Very simple to make our claim without any hassle and definately no need to "employ" anybody to do it for us - thanks Martin for all of your fantastic advice on your website.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0
