HI,i put in 10 claims (6 for loans and 4 for credit card) on the 27th sept 2011.I was sent a letter saying i would receive a reply by the 16 th December so was delighted when i received a cheque this morning for 1 of the cards for £1453.27!!!thank you halifax. There was no letter beforehand to state it had been upheld.BUT.......also this morning i also got a letter from the taxman asking if there has any change to my circumstance money wise i was to declare it!hmm..im thinking mr taxman knows about the cheque and wants some of it!!!
I had the same letter a few days before an upeld letter from Lloyds tsb....seems like the tax man is informed before we are?!0 -
Have sent away a claim to RBS for PPI on a cc. Received a letter today saying they have received complaint and they would reply within 16 weeks. Does anyone know if the banks have been given another extension (from 12-16 weeks) for dealing with complaints. I have already received a letter from them about a loan reclaim and letter I got back a couple of weeks ago was saying they had the 12wks.
Also am going to claim for a Sainsburys cc. Can anyone tell me if it is the same address as for Sainsburys loan -Bank of Scotland PO Box 761 Leeds, West Yorkshire LS1 9JF
I don't think they've been given an extension, if anything i was under the impression that any claims after 1st Dec 2011 had to be dealt with in 8 weeks. Good luck with RBS, hopefully you won't wait too long, I got an upheld letter in less than 11 wks.0 -

It's always advisable to pay Mr. taxman any dues, but dont forget when you contact him..............it cost you to claim this money back ie postage time, stationary etc.0 -
- What were you reclaiming: Credit Card
- Who was the provider: Goldfish / Barclaycard
- How much did you get back: £79,044.22
- And then write your brief reclaim tale :
I was lucky enough to have put my claim in early and fell into the bracket of people that Barclaycard decided to pay out - no quibble
I put my claim in at the end of March - rec'vd my offer letter on 30.08.11, and they rec'vd my acceptance on 09.09.11.
After many phone calls, and getting nowhere I decided to e-mail the CEO and within a couple of days, someone called me back
She couldn't have been more helpful, and agreed to chase this up for me.
I have been paid out today, so it has taken a whopping 12 weeks + 3 days since they rec'vd my accpetance - but well worth it.
Not only am I now debt free, but we now have a substantial deposit to buy a house
Life changing is an understament!!
Good Luck everyone else

Please can I get some advise on what to do about the following;
I received an offer of 'Goodwill' from RBS relating to one of my claims against the Nat West at the end of August for the amount of £14,000. I signed and sent back the acceptance form and waited 28 working days before contacting to see if everything was ok. I was then told that they had not received my acceptance letter back, even though they had recevied the other offer letters sent in the same envelop!
So they sent me out another letter with for the same amount £14,000 and I signed the acceptance form and this time sent it back recorded delivery. I phoned after 20 working days to make sure everything was ok and was told that it was with the payment depart.
After a futher 10 working days (so 30 in total) I received a letter saying that the original letter sent in August contained an error and that the offer had been mis-calculated resulting in a much higher value than what was due. There are now offering me £4,000 and said that my orignal acceptance form has now been deemed as invalid.
This doesn't seem right to me and I'm wondering can they do this? Or can I hold them to the original offer letter as I've already acceptanced it?0
