I presume you paid the £10?,this should give all info they have on you, they may be right regarding the 7 years, this will depend on the years the previous loans were taken out.
If they rolled these loans over, you could put the mis sell claims in for the ones you have paperwork for,but let them know one loan paid the previous one off and ask them to look into these too,you never know they may just find you.
    Good luck.

thats right paid the 10.00 think they are trying their luck will contact them again have got ppi insurance docs but they say no ppi on these loans:mad:

  • Unexpected result today, settlement offer from Opus (they took over Citi card I had two years ago). It's a very high interest card, so delighted with the 4.5k I got which wipes the card out plus leaves me 2 grand. :j

Have a claim in to Citi for the previous card I'm yet to hear about.

So far I've had offers to the tune of 22.5k! :T

What were you reclaiming: Credit Cards
Who was the provider: Capital One
How much did you get back: I got £76 and hubby got £24
And then write your brief reclaim tale :

We sent off the questionnaire from this website and the postman has just been and both me and hubby have had an offer of PPI back from Capital One, hubby has got £24 and I've got £76 and that includes interest as well! the credit cards were paid off and the accounts closed in 2009 so we did not expect to get anything back.

    thanks

    Mortgage exit fee next :)

Edit : anyone got any PPI back from Vanquis Credit Card (they call it repayment option plan and refused to pay out in 2007 when I was off sick and then lost my job)

  • Amount borrowed: £40k
    PPI: £7972
Total amount borrowed including PPI: £47972
Total amount won (including loan restructure): £13157
    Lender: Barclayloan (Firstplus)
First offer, no contact with ombudsman

After being told by my Mum she had heard about the PPI scandal on Radio 4s Money Programme, she said she thought I might qualify. I already had cover through my employer, and was led to believe by the sales rep that if I did not accept the PPI I might not get the loan. At the time, my Dad was dying, and I just needed £1k to pay a council tax bill. Normally I would have gone to my parents for help, but I couldn't worry them. I had already maxed out my unsecured lending due to a recent separation, and had no choice but to borrow against my home. I was told in order to borrow the money I needed I would have to pay the PPI. I was also not told the cover only lasted 5 years, but I would pay the repayments for the premium (which you also 'borrow' upfront) for 25 years!
I wrote one letter and chased once. I got back £2923 as a lump sum for what I had already paid, and a further 10233.83 which they used to restructure my loan, reducing my repayments by approx. £100 a month.

If in doubt, do it! I waited 3 months before I plucked up the courage. But all they can do is say no. Im about to contact my other lenders now. Oh - and DON'T use a claims firm. It's so easy, it just takes an afternoon of paperwork and listening to any calls CD they send you.
    DO IT NOW!!! :rotfl:
  • I am looking for some advice as to the next steps. I Just received a rejection on my credit card ppi claim from RBS. I took out the card in 1998 on a paper form that was sent to me and the box said “we strongly advise you to take out this policy” The reasons I gave were for it being mis-sold were (their responses are in red):
    · I don’t believe it was properly explained to me the explanation of costs and suitability. They said I was provided with monthly statements and the policy document I received at the time gave details of the terms and conditions and cancellation rights if i was unhappy.
    · I believed taking out the ppi wouldincrease my chances
    · I thought I was obliged to take out the cover as “it said we strongly recommend you take out this cover. They said the policy was provided on a non-advice basis so i was under no obligation to take out the cover. Also they said there was no suggestion that it would increase my chances if I took it out.
    · No explanations of the existing cover I had. Again they say as the policy was sold on a non advice basis there was no obligation for the bank to provide me with details of alternatives.
I did have some sickeness cover through my work but could anyone advise me on how to respond to RBS or should I send the information to ombudsman. They do say that if I can provide any additional information they will look at it. Not sure what is best. I would appreciate any advice?
  • i would just like to thank the site for helping me to reclaim my ppi payments plus intrest a total of 3700 thanks
