Two weeks ago I received a letter from "Loans.co.uk" upholding my claim and have agreed to pay me back £8.5k just waiting for payment

Yesterday I received letter from MBNA confirming payment of £10.5k this was for a credit card I had from 2000 until 2007 with a limit of £12.4k which I had maxed out

These were both achieved by one letter and one completed form each no "middle man" involved

    Now waiting for 5 more

Thanks MSE for giving us the "tools" to take the big boy's on!

Well done on your wins  Just to advise though, we had our letter from Loans.co.uk on 20th August advising they are upholding, and I am STILL waiting for the letter with calcs & acceptance to come out to me. They sent it last Monday by 2nd class post (apparently) & it's still not arrived so am ringing them today as it's £17k & could really do with it before xmas!! :D
Keep Smiling :D - It makes people wonder what you're up to!!!

    Hi Sophieh

Perhaps we should start a new thread with who has waited the longest for their payout after they have posted their acceptance letter. Name and shame the bank concerned (if it is possible to shame them). Posted my acceptance letter to RBS on 27th Aug having started my claim in August LAST year. They received it on 2nd Sept. Am waiting for £22,000. Still waiting despite so many promises. Anyone waiting longer than this after acceptance?
  • Hi just a wee update on my claim. I sent my claim to Lloyds in early July & got paperwork back stating 16 weeks to process my information. 16 weeks was the 28th October but I received confrirmation that my claim was being upheld around the 20th.

They advised that i would be paid in due course, some 6 weeks later I am still waiting despite several calls and emails.

And to top it all, a colleague of mine claimed through Lloyds a few weeks after I did & they have received payment for their PPI on their credit card.

I am becoming increasingly frustrated with these clowns now, my next stop is the FOS, my MP & BBC Watchdog.

    • What were you reclaiming: Credit Card
    • Who was the provider: Goldfish / Barclaycard
    • How much did you get back: £79,044.22
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale :
I have had this credit card for about 14 yrs and have always had a reasonbly high balance on it. It was only when I got behind with my payments, that I had to ask my Father for help and he noticed I was paying PPI . We enquired with a couple of these companies that work on your behalf , but as soon as we realised they take 20 - 25% of your refund we decided to contact the ombudsman direct.

I was lucky enough to have put my claim in early and fell into the bracket of people that Barclaycard decided to pay out - no quibble

I put my claim in at the end of March - rec'vd my offer letter on 30.08.11, and they rec'vd my acceptance on 09.09.11.

After many phone calls, and getting nowhere I decided to e-mail the CEO and within a couple of days, someone called me back
She couldn't have been more helpful, and agreed to chase this up for me.

I have been paid out today, so it has taken a whopping 12 weeks + 3 days since they rec'vd my accpetance - but well worth it.

Not only am I now debt free, but we now have a substantial deposit to buy a house

    Life changing is an understament!!

    Good Luck everyone else

  • Is it me or are we still not seeing many Barclays loan payouts? I've been waiting 50 working days now when the last letter I had gave a deadline of 40 working days. Just rang them to be told that the average wait is another 20 working days on top of the original 40. That's 4 months to consider a claim then another 3 to payout. They're a disgrace.
  • HELP I am a newby just signed up.

Took out a Lombard loan with PPI in 1998. I got into into financial difficulties in 99 and wrote to cancel PPI. I received a letter back that it formed an integral part of the loan and could not be cancelled until the loan was paid off. I eventually paid the loan off by 2007 by amending the amount of the repayment drastically. I have all the paperwork, statements etc. I understand that they were taken over by RBS.

    Two points
Can I still make a claim.
Does the liability pass to RBS.

    Many thanks

Without seeing the original terms and conditions of the loan I would say this is very dodgy as far as Lombard are concerned. Do you still have the letter stating that you couldn't cancel the PPI ? I hope so ;) How can you cancel it AFTER finishing the loan!!!!!!!!!! It automatically cancels itself. This sounds like a strong case of mis sell and I would think that RBS are now responsible for it and as you never paid it off until 2007 they should still have all the paperwork for it themselves, if not YOU have (well done keeping it). Go over the paperwork and see if it was upfront single premium PPI (put onto the loan at the beginning) it sounds like it was, if so you have a strong case ;)

Anyone else had experience of Lombard that can shed any light?
