I'm still waiting on a preference account upheld in early Sept.

I seem to remember there were issues with these accounts around interest - have you had a breakdown from them??????
I've not seen the breakdown yet - just had the total confirmed over the phone. I repeated it back to make sure.

My wife submitted a claim in May to Halifax for a credit card PPI. It took ages to sort out but finally, Halifax have refunded just over £3300! Success!!
However, as she had witheld 1 payment (last month) in complaint over the length of time they were taking to work out the calculations, they are now playing silly b's.
They asked her in a letter, which account she wanted the refund paying into. They also said that they would possibly pay the refund temporarily into her cc account until this was finalised.
They HAVE paid it into her credit card account, and now her credit limit has been reduced by the same £3300 to exactly the outstanding balance. Does this mean that they won't be transferring the refund out of the cc and into her bank account.
I guess it's just another way of getting back at the customers who claim back.

Have browsed this site for a while whilst putting in PPI claims and found it really useful. So wanted to quickly add my story and encouragement:

Received a confirmation letter of repayment of £610 today from RBS for credit card, on top of a number of Natwest loan PPIs that have also been upheld totalling just over £16k. All of this from reading about things on here and simply making one phonecall to the Natwest PPI line on the phone number from their website.

I also want to give credit where it is due - Natwest have been really easy to deal with, very helpful on the phone, searched through all of the records and found things I didn't even know about, and pretty fast in comparison to some of the issues I have read about on here (and a huge contrast to Barclays, who my wife has had no end of trouble with).

So thanks to Martin for the website, the users on here for their stories and advice, Natwest for making the process extremely easy, and the local off-licence for the bottle of champagne I'm about to quaff!

If you don't mind me asking, how long from the phone call did natwest send an offer.. My parents called the hotline and it'll be interesting to see how long the response is likely to be... They've put in around 13 PPI claims, my dad was a) Self employed and b) made to believe it was mandatory. My mum was successful earlier in the year with lloyds for about £3.5k.. My dads account were much larger..it will be very interesting to see what happens :)

  • Hi,

i made one phone call to lloyds 12 weeks ago, about a LOAN i took out that finished in 2003, of which i had no paperwork any longer or account numbers for it. They took that call as the official complaint being raised.

they sent me a confirmation letter after that phone call, that i would be dealt with within 12 weeks (1 December)

they sent me an offer letter 2 weeks ago well within the 12 weeks,

i recieved £796.01 today in my bank!!

    good luck to others x

Has anyone received any money from RBS recently. Acceptance posted on Aug 27th and still nothing received. Three months wait for something they owe me is totally unacceptable. I was promised payment on Oct 12 and on Nov 21 but still nothing. Having been made redundant I could do with the money.
  • Morning! I just wanted to say a MASSIVE THANK-YOU to you ALL for everything to do with our PPI claim from Lloyds. We started this claim on 6th of September, reply from Lloyds on the 8th letter of claims upheld dated 18th of November with interest to the 14th of December BACS payment today! ALL within 12 weeks.
NOW if we can do it so can you! GOOD LUCK to anyone still waiting it will all come right in the end.
Can anyone give me an email address to say Thank-you to the Bank? I'm a great believer in saying my thanks where they're due.

THANK-YOU EVERYONE. MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY 2012.
