PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

after 25 weeks of waiting (and pulling my hair out), i finally got an offer from Tesco Finance yesterday, relating to PPI on four back to back loans, starting in 2001 (and still running). they've offered me nearly £9K, and dropped my current monthly payment to the figure it would have been without the PPI

very happy

Good luck :rotfl:
Well thank you for your "Good Luck", sarcasm and all. It seems to have worked because after sending them my letter as detailed earlier I have today received my settlement letter, with an apology for the lengthy 8 week quote.
Thanks again..... "Sarky Git"!!
P.S. There really was no need for the "git" in your first response.

When i took my mortgage out about 19yrs ago i was looking at this ppi etc and noticed i had a insurance policy for it that if i got paid off my work etc it would pay for it will not working.
So me thinking this was ppi i wrote away complaining and just a few days ago after 16 weeks wait i got a cheque.
Is this ppi?
It reads or what its called is mortgage repayment insurance or cover is this the same as ppi?if its not is it worth me trying for ppi or is this what i got, some people said to me at work that this was not ppi but im not sure,as i dont think it is,and if its not then i would like to see if they owe me anything.
I dont think they are gonna say im due any ppi on my mortgage unless i make a claim is this right.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
Hi all,
This is my first time posting on this site so please bear with me.
I am trying to claim back PPI from a EGG credit card which is now closed. I sent off the template letter ( from Martin's website) asking for a copy of the credit agreement. Egg replied stating that as the account is now closed they have no legal obligation to provide me with the credit agreement. I tried calling them but they have now been taken over by Barclays and I was told that my credit card details were not transfered over and as a result they cannot find my account, even though I have given them the credit card account no and they (Egg) wrote back quoting the same account number and gave me a reference number. Can anyone please advise how I should proceed next any advice will be gratefully recevied.
Cheers

I had a loan of £1000 with Barclays Bank that I took out in 2007. This had Payment Protection applied to it - this was a condition of the loan. I sent a letter to Barclays on 6 October and have received a letter from them this morning saying that I will recieve......... £2259.69. Didn't even have to go on to the Ombudsman. I am completely made up. Happy Christmas here I come!!!
All it took was a letter containing 4 paragraphs (not even one side of A4) and I have got all my money back and a whole lot more. Completely worth doing.0 -
