PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi,
Took out a Natwest Credit Card in 2000 which had PPI on it, can't remember how / why it was sold so wrote to Natwest in August 2011 to request copy of t & cs (which they couldn't provide).
(I remember trying to cancel the PPI some years ago and was offered a 'payment holiday' to dissuade me from cancelling. I eventually managed to cancel PPI in 2010).
September 2011 wrote using Martin's letter asking for refund of PPI.
November 2011 received offer of £3000!! Success.:j
Thanks Martin! :beer:0 -

Had to register to say a big thankyou to this site.
After following the guide from here, I have just received an offer from HSBC of just short of £6,000!! I have also received £347 from Aqua whilst I have Barclaycard over a barrell to the tune of £800 as they applied PPI for 2 years without my consent. They just added it in 2007 then stopped it in 2009. I am also taking Black Horse to the FOS. Add all this to the £950 I have received in Credit Card charges and I am one happy bunny. All this has been in the past 2 weeks :j
Once again, thankyou
Please keep us posted on how you go on with the Black Horse. I'm just completing my form for the FOS regarding a loan i took out with the Black Horse.
Good luck:o0 -
Hi,
have just had deposited it my account a lovely big fat £3964.46 reclaimed from a couple of loans going back to 2002. Barclays even found one that I had forgotted about!!!!
result!!! one letter from Martins website was all it took. I have now got 3 people at work reclaiming. They can only say No...so you have nothing to lose other than the price of a stamp.
thanks Martin.:beer:0 -
14 weeks into the 16 weeks of another 2 of my LTSB claims I have found out today that they are upholding my CC and further loan claim. The CC is £20,393.62 and the loan is £8568.95. That makes a running total so far of £51,809.02 to be upheld by LTSB. That is from 4 claims made by ringing the LTSB PPI claim reporting line after having read extensively on this Forum. :j
I have another 3 claims lodged with them.
Thanks to Amersall, DizzyDi and all the contributors to this forum for your advice and support. Debt free for 2012.

Well done, it's good to hear of a Barclay's payout. Would you mind telling me how long you waited for payment from the point at which they accepted you were due a refund? They've told me and a few others on here that the refund would be made within 40 working days but they haven't met that deadline.0 -

Hi guys so many people are talking about ppi at my work and i not really looked into it myself, until they was talking about money they was getting back.
Well i remember back say 19 years ago when i got my first home i had this insurance that if i became out of work and im sure this was a policy if i lost my job the insurance would cover my mortgage, well that did happen and when i tried to make a claim they would not pay me.
They said back then it was the line of work i was in,i had paid this for approx 2 and half year and once they had said that i canceled right away.
Today i got a check for £670 or there abouts, and they said in the letter this is what i am being paid back in which they explained in a letter a few weeks ago they had sent.
For some strange reason i never got this letter,so called them today to ask for this to be sent so i can read it.
I wonder if this is cheque is for what i had paid in them 2 yrs etc i had paid or for ppi, someone told me at work that the policy i had is not really ppi, that was more an insurance policy.
Would it be worth me claiming for ppi on my mortgage or would this be it?
I have since ordeedr a credit rating for my past and sent off to a load of cc cards and loans i have over the years to see what else i am owe, some cards are going back as far back as 95,2000 and are a range of different banks etc, some have been taken over by other banks etc so i am wondering if the bank thats took over them will still be able to look into my claims and as long back as some dates of say 1995 etc etc.
I was a real surprise to have got that cheque today, but i had waited at least 14 weeks for it.Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
:beer:BIG THANK YOU TO MARTIN.
Have always followed yu, and told 1 of my colleagues to check out yr site for the templates on the PPI.
She claimed on credit card and got just over 4000.00 back, and has just been offered over 7000.00 on loan.VERY HAPPY!!
I have just received my letter mmn 12-14 weeks and have been offered just under 5000.oo on credit card -TSB LLOYDS.
I followed yr letter, I did'nt even have the paperwork, did not request any or pay the 1.00 to get any, lets face it going back 6 years the banks would not give u loans/cards without charging yu PPI.
This was using yr templates, and no-one else involved. Why pay these firms to fight for you (and take a cut of yr RETURNS), when you have all the information at hand- DO NOT BE FRIGHTENED TO DO IT YRSELF:beer::beer:0
