How long have you been waiting? I sent my acceptance letter in August and have had two dates promised for payment up to now - 12 Oct and 21 Nov - both of which have passed. How long can they drag this farce out?
  • I don't know which way to turn regarding Lloyds TSB and the PPI Claim, I put my claim in on the 9th may 2011, but they continously fob me off, saying yes I am owed the money, but they are now recalculating it. I told them to leave it and just send me the cheque for what they owe, but they haven't. I have now tried to email Tim Tooney Acting chief Exc, but he has not responded. Why can't we speak to anyone in this "Payment Office", it seems they don't exsist, also I can never find any email addresses for this dept or Newport Wales. I have now said if I do not get any contact today, i will be sending an email to my MP. I don't want to put another complaint in as it will take another 8 weeks to investigate. Please can anyone help me.
  • I am in my 12th week of waiting for payment now, and the last contact I had over the phone with Barclaycard was that they were 'close to issuing payment'
Anyone had this before - or any idea of how close 'close' actually is?

    Thanks

    Hi
I received a letter from Barclays dated 9 September saying they were upholding my PPI complaint and would pay me back £1,174 which was fantastic news. They said that this may take them up to 40 working days to complete. We are now nearly at 60 working days and I have not received my money yet. I have phoned them several times to be told I just have to wait as they are dealing with them in date order. I have contacted the FOS who wrote to Barclays but again nothing has happened yet. I am now about to write to Barclays again but it is so frustrating especially as I desperately need the money! Has anybody got any suggestions on how to speed up the process? Any advise would be gratefully received. Thanks, Fiona

Don't suppose anybody has the email address for somebody a bit higher up in Barclays?
  • Had to register to say a big thankyou to this site.

After following the guide from here, I have just received an offer from HSBC of just short of £6,000!! I have also received £347 from Aqua whilst I have Barclaycard over a barrell to the tune of £800 as they applied PPI for 2 years without my consent. They just added it in 2007 then stopped it in 2009. I am also taking Black Horse to the FOS. Add all this to the £950 I have received in Credit Card charges and I am one happy bunny. All this has been in the past 2 weeks :j

    Once again, thankyou
  • So back in 2001, while a tad emotionally vulnerable, I let myself get talked into a PPI on my RBS credit card. The line was that it was fine for the self-employed and would never cause my balance to rise (and I wanted to get her off the phone). Both of these proved to be false, although for a variety of reasons it did not get dealt with (one of which was the "Can accept by phone, but only cancel by post: that needs banning).

But there's nothing like a cashflow crunch to focus the mind and in August phoned RBS Cards happy to accept just having the damned insurance cancelled. I didn't even realise it had been put into dispute and, when I got the letter, figured I might get £50 and a "Go away".

About twelve weeks later, without admitting liability, they offered over £5,000 (85% or so of my non-mortgage debt, or put another way over £100 a month of outgoings saved).

I accepted, sent the (very badly designed) form off. Tried phoning to make sure it was received and could hear the call going round the hunt group until BT cut me off. Tried again at the end of last week and huzzah! an answer. Very nice helpful lady checked and discovered that although my acceptance had gone into my file, no-one had plugged it into the database.

Text yesterday morning saying it had been processed and would turn up within 7 days. Turned up this morning, with a slightly higher amount than originally offered (the premiums charged since the complaint opened, I think).

    From this I deduce

    1. How hideously expensive these utterly useless policies are - 85% of my debt:mad:
    2. Chase. Chase. And chase again. But be polite about it and sweet-talk the operators who do the work

Was paying a premium on a Debenhams store card (now administered by Santander) for 5 or 6 years for account/purchase cover, a large percentage of which I later found out included redundancy/sickness cover which was no good to me as I wasn’t working when I took it out and am only a casual worker now. It had been worrying me for some time but wasn’t sure where I stood and whether it was covered by the mis-selling regulations.
I adapted MSE’s template for claiming and sent it off less than two weeks ago.
I received 2 letters this morning confirming that they will be refunding all premiums paid together with interest and a “loss of cash” compensation payment.

    A total of £385.00

    Just awaiting the cheque now!

So if you are hesitating – dig out that template and go ahead and claim.

Thanks to all at MSE towers.
  • TSB Delays!!!!
Hows this for a final short delay from tsb!!! I received a cheque from a company(tsb cheque), paid it in to my tsb account and it cleared instantly...Just paid a ppi refund cheque from tsb into my tsb account and IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST 5 WORKING DAYS TO CLEAR. That is clearly another holding tactic if ever i saw one!!!!!!
