Just received an offer letter from RBS saying as a gesture of goodwill they will refund my ppi premiums with the usual interest offer of 4300 pounds, only taken 7 weeks0

HSBC wow, received my acceptance on 22nd November, nearly £9,000.00 back in my bank this morning.
Merry Christmas to me, I think some of these banks need to take a leaf out of their book! Surely if one bank can pay out in a week so can they0 -
I came home last night to find my calculations letter from HBOS waiting for me. Including the credit card refund I already have received my total redress was £13,087. Way more than I anticipated!!!
Just HFC bank to get sorted out although that is with the FOS and expect a long wait for an outcome to that.
I want to thank all the lovely people on here who have helped me, Amersall, Niggly and of course the amazing Di!!! You are all brilliant!!
Good luck to everyone else who is waiting to hear from their respective banks!!

Just to update you (I said I would) I received my refund letter yesterday with the monies in my account today!!!!!!!! Hope all is going well and you get everything you wish for...x
Oh that is brilliant news! Congratulations - I'm still waiting, unfortunately, but I am now being kept up to date by someone in the director's office. She is chasing the payment for me and has called me twice - so I think I may be getting somewhere - fingers crossed!0 -
Hi,
Just thought I'd let you know how long it took to get my cheques from Firstplus.
I sent my acceptance form to them which they said they had received and logged on 28th October - on Friday 25th November to my complete amazement my cheques had arrived!!!! I thought that it would be well after xmas going by the wait other people have had off them.
I know some people on here have been waiting weeks and weeks.
However I had missed a payment so owed them money maybe this is why I got them so quickly so that they could have the money I owed them - still very nice in time for xmas and very pleased £8,500 better off.:j:j:beer:0 -
It doesn't say it's a final response, do i need to get back back intouch with them to put it in writing that it's a final response first before i go to the FOS? All they have said is if we remain unhappy contact the FOS.0

Hi all...just a quicky...
Amount owing as at 27-3-2009 £2509.80
Paid reduced amount £1479.93
Balance "written off" by HFC £1029.87
Ins. canc. by HFC (26-6-09) deducted £36.22 off bal. so = £ 993.65
...when I made my early balance settlement with HFC I presumed that was that, but during my reclaiming with them I started to get letters saying I still owed this money. Eventually they said it was a mistake and that I didn't owe it...I have a written apology saying the account was short settled and no further monies will be sought by HFC.
On the PPI "Acceptance of Offer' form I have to sign there is a paragraph saying "As I still have a financial committment to HFC Bank, the amount of redress paid directly to me is subject to the status of my accounts. If there is any residual balance, this will be sent to my bank account. It may be necessary to contact you via telephone to discuss this further. Please give preferred contact number."
Does this mean that they can still take the £993.65 out of the final redress even though they accepted a lower settlement fee via CapQuest ?
Any thoughts please0 -

Hi - Any help here would be much appreciated. I am not great at checking bank statements and have just noticed last week that I am paying £9.95 to halifax insurance each month from my bank account. I have phoned them up about this and they say it is a PPI that i have been paying since august 2005!!!!! - i have no idea what this is for - what should i do now? Thanks in advance for any help.0
