Had a knock back on my ppi reclaim from Black Horse yesterday GUTTED :(:(:(
What were the reasons you gave for mis sell, and what reasons have they given for not upholding, what year was this loan/cc taken out.
  • Just received an upheld letter from MBNA for a credit card - £1314.23...Better than a poke in the eye! Other credit card complaint re MBNA is with the FOS, so fingers crossed. Was actually beginning to believe that all these stories regarding PPI reclaims successes were urban myths!!
    MBNA Credit Card PPI 1 Upheld - £1314 :)

    MBNA Credit Card PPI 2 Rejected :( - Complained to FOS....MBNA Upholding....Awaiting Figures :)....Cheque Received £5712 :)

We had no choice in taking the ppi as my husband was s/e. We were told that if we didn't take the ppi we couldn't have loan. Hence the reason for taking out.
They have just told us it was not mis sold and contact the fos.
We took the loan out in 2006 and it was over 10yrs.

I had PPI,for a number of years, but stopped it in 2005,so nothing to lose i phoned my bank ,[COOP]i was put through to their claims dept, and within minutes they said i probably have a claim ,[i was self employed at the time of the loans],after a few days the claim forms came,i put them aside to fill in later,we were busy packing for a holiday ,i forgot about the forms for three weeks until i got a letter off the coop, telling me my claim was successful, and was to be paid in full,£15,000,here's the rub , i had canceled the ppi at renewal ,but the person setting up the loan did not ,i had no idea i was paying ppi,as there was nothing on my statements referring to it, so don't bother with rip off companies do it your self it was so easy,PS am so pleased i claimed, as i would still be paying for insurance i did not need

I registered my complaint with Bank of Scotland on November 10th.
Received their offer for refund of £9,341.41 on Saturday!! Just over 2 weeks:j:j
Interest calculated up to 20th December-have to wait to see if they send cheque before Xmas:)

I realise I have been very fortunate compared to others on the forum-Barclays reviewed, upheld and repaid my ppi £8,300 in about 8 weeks.
Just waiting on Barclays OD claim now.

To anyone still wondering whether to claim ppi back, GO FOR IT!
With the help of this forum I am now over £17, 000 better off :j
  • Received a letter today, settling my claim for £3550!

Around five weeks from first contact, just got to wait for the money to arrive. Thanks :money:!!
  • Hi looking for some help. I have an Egg cc but not sure who to write to to claim back missold PPI as Barclaycard have now taken over. Can anyone help please?
  • Well... Littlewoods called me today regarding my complaint. They went through the reasons why I thought I has been missold extra care advantage insurance. Took about 15mins then at the end said that I took out the insurance over the phone when I placed my first order in November 2004 and then upgraded in March 2005 but couldn't tell me if this happened when I placed an order or if it was a sales call. Mmmmm I don't quite believe this to be honest I can never remember accepting anything of the sort and told her if they were working to a sales script as she said then they should review it and make it more clear to people about what they are getting. I never knew it was insurance just thought it was a service charge I was paying for.

Anyway enough rambling, they said I would here in the next 7 working days if my claim had been upheld or not. Am very doubtful to be honest.

I will update when I receive my outcome. I hope this is helpful for others if going after Littlewoods and what to expect if you do.

Some insurance covers the self employed, you would need the policy info to find this out.
Send the complaint to FOS(if this last letter says it is the final response) with copies of the letters from you to the bank, and look here for reasons for mis sell that may apply to you and put these on the FOS questionnaire

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2

If it was not a final response, send this info above back to the bank and tell them you disagree and want them to look at this claim again.

Was this ppi put on at the start of the loan and you paid this back over the term with interest?if it was,put in your complaint that this was front loaded insurance and you pay this over term with interest.
