PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Any and all help appreciated
Hi,
I had a loan with RBS in 1994, paid off in full in 1999 and got back all premiums plus interest. I had the origional paperwork showing that the PPI was frontloaded. Said I would never have needed the PPI because I was completely covered by my employers. Had to go to the FOS and it took about 18 months but got back over £9000 in the end.
Good luck and get in touch if you need anymore info.0 -
Hi, can forum users help me please? I recently received a printout from Halifax listing all loans, credit cards, etc. that I'd had with them (both open and closed). One of the transactions is for (Total Mortgage Protection Network) and has a reference number commencing TMP.
Could you please advise me if this looks like Halifax Total Mortgage Protection? If so, could you please advise me where I would get a copy of the policy or at least details of when I opened/closed the account and monthly premium (it ended in 2005)? I did have a previous mortgage with Halifax from 1992 to 2005 (this is also listed on the printout).
Also, assuming that it is for TMP, where do I send a claim for a missold policy?
I'd appreciate any advice from people who have had these policies running.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for this. I appreciate your help.0 -

Just called Welcome Finance to see where payment is - we've been told claim for 1 car loan and 1 personal loan has been upheld.
We were told it would be settled by today however when I called I was told because it's a higher amount (no idea how much 'higher' is) it has gone to management and today would have been the settlement day for a lower rate.
Anyone else had this???0 -
well blow me down,
Put in a claim on 14th Nov 2011 , they received 17 Nov, letter today 19th Nov, for the wife and Santander upheld refunding:-
£793.56 payments
£398.88 8%
£85.23 Loss of cash payment
Total 1277.67
They said while it was signed for they recognise the nature of the complaint and refunded.
Yeeeehaaaawww. Now i only hope they got my emails and are doing the same for me !!!

Just read the thread from post 600 to present (eyes bulge!!)
Anyway, have been reviewing my claims this far for myself and Mrs Stundun and noticed an error on my part in my original post as quoted above..
We received an offer (accepted) as below.
£793.56 payments
£398.88 Interest assocated with PPI premiums
£85.23 Loss of cash payment at 8%.
Am i right in saying we only need to pay tax on the £85.23 which is the 8% element. I think I am as this is much better as its only £17.04 in that case.
Also, the letter from santander doesnt say gross or net, and the majority of the refund actually cleared the card balance (£114 left for the wife).
Is tax payable in those circumstances, i.e. the majority of the refund pays off the debt / balance?
Finally, received holding responses from all companies barring Cahoot, Egg and Northern Rock.
I so wish for good news!!

Hello , hope you dont mind me asking , how long has it taken to get to this stage ? i had 2 loans 1 car and 1 personal . car for 6500 and personal 11 k . thanks
Not at all!....we applied early October and had a reply on 14th October saying they would aim to settle within 30 days (working days). As that time is now up they tell us it is at payment stage and with manager because the refund is a higher amount (no idea what this means in terms of money).
Our car loan was 5k and our personal 4.5 k - so you're looking at more than us! Good luck!0 -
advice please
If the banks no longer have paper records am I wasting my time?
Hi there
If you have the account number you could still give it a go, many on here have still been successful from reclaims via 90's and with minimum or no paperwork, they may at least come back with an offer instead if they no longer hold the data.
No harm in trying with the reasons you have, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Just trying to catch up on here now folks.
Well done and Congratulations to all recent winners! :T:beer::j:T:beer::jThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
After reading some of the posts here, it would appear that Lloyds TSB have paid people £1200 standard gesture of goodwill when they have either had no paperwork or missing paperwork but perhaps had loan agreement numbers. Is that correct?
I have had a number if loans in the 90s with Halifax and others. I do not have the paperwork. However, I have reference numbers though. Has anyone else had "gestures of goodwill" from other companies with little or no paperwork? Thanks.0
