  • Hi just an update regarding my post a few months back regarding cancelling my ppi before my loan is paid up,it didnt make any difference cancelling it as i received a cheque for £9.500 from rbs, inc all interest and my loan monthly payment has been reduced considerably.I have been waiting since august 2010 for these results and it was well worth the wait.
Do not go to one of these companies that offer to do it all for you resulting in them taking a big chunk when its so easy to sort it out for yourselves. Now to wait for a reply from tesco.Holidays here we come.
Thanks for all the advice from peeps on here ,if it wasnt for you i wouldnt have known where to start:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:money:
  • We got the 'complaint upheld' letter 27th August, the calculation letter on 15th September and the cheque on our doormat yesterday. Yay!

It's going to make so much difference. Put it this way, it's gone from a near cancelled Christmas to a comfortable one!

Thanks to Martin, Dizzy Di, Amersall and all the other stars on this site.

Well done all the other winners and hold on in there whoever's still fighting.

  • Approximately 3 months ago I contacted a company called Investor Compensation via phone I explained to them that I had claimed on my PPI to be told that doesn't matter a few days later I received my claims form I was suprised to see that the have you claimed on your PPI was altermatically crossed no so I scribbled them out and crossed the yes answer A few weeks later they phoned me and said your lender says you have claimed on your PPI I said yes and that if they looked at my claims form they would see this the reply was well you might as well continue with your claim or it would cost me their time I agreed A few days ago I received a phone call from them again stating that I had claimed on my PPI and that if I continued with my claim I would end up paying my lender somewhere in the region of £530 whereas if I cancelled my claim with them it would cost me £204 so now I have to find £204 although I dont believe any of this was my fault They did not do the correct invesigations before starting the claim:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

A few days ago I received a phone call from them again stating that I had claimed on my PPI and that if I continued with my claim I would end up paying my lender somewhere in the region of £530 whereas if I cancelled my claim with them it would cost me £204 so now I have to find £204 although I dont believe any of this was my fault They did not do the correct invesigations before starting the claim

Talk to your lender, this doesn't seem right.

Looks like the company is trying to get money from you.

If they keep harassing you, report them to MoJ (the claims regulator).
  • Yay, I got refund of £765.00 for PPI on lloyds cc, and hubby got £2700.00 refund for PPi on lloyds loan. We only sent one letter each so very pleased with result. A nice chunk off our exsisting cc debts gone.
It did make me even more aware that the money could have been in our pockets if we didnt have existing credit outstanding. looking forward to being debt free asap.
  • After waiting 5 months for a final response from Clydesdale bank I received a letter today saying my complaint was upheld as they could not demonstrate PPi was suitable for me at the time of advice and i was due £1784.03 but would get £0.00 as I had made a successful claim for £3114.90 due to sickness ( the death benefit did not cover my late husband even though we both signed for it as I was the first named borrower ).

As you you had claimed on the ppi and said so on the letter from the company, you need to phone the company and tell them you are reporting them to the MOJ,as tifo said.
    http://www.justice.gov.uk/global/contacts/claims-management-regulation/index.htm

The company were aware that you had claimed on this ppi and the form they sent to you was already for you to sign that you had not claimed on the ppi,(tell them you have a copy of this)they must know your claim has been upheld and that you would owe the bank if you claim (i will get to this in a minute) you have been duped, all they wanted was the %,tell them you are unhappy with the service you have recieved and want this matter dealt with, ask them for all information they have on your claim and the offer from the bank.

    Then phone the MOJ.

It is possible that the claim on the insurance would mean they paid you more then the actual ppi they would redress, but you will not know this until you find out how the redress was worked out.
  • Good afternoon

This is my first post to this web site and after a few months of reading on Thursday I took the leap and filed my complaint.

    My story is as follows.

Iv had 3 loans with Halifax, loan 1 feb2005 paid july 2005 £3500 had PPI, loan 2 July 2005 paid feb 2008 £10500 had PPI, loan feb 2008 £8500 no PPI on going.
I called halifax detailing that I believe that I was mis sold my ppi on the first two loans as I remember the discussions with the banker at the branch and him detailing that I most likely did not need it however I was told when taking out the first 2 loans I most likely did.
The funny thing is that I have been with the same employer for 8 years and my circumstances have not changed. If any thing they are tighter now as I have a family and mortgage.
I have also informed them that I believe the reason I had the PPI put on my loan was that I was young (18yo) at the time of the loan and did not understand what I was taking out and I may have been seen as a bit naive.
It confuses me that they were really up for me having it on the first two but when I maybe was taking with someone that knows what he was doing it was seen that I didnt need it as I have good sick and death benifits with work that was made clear with the first two applications too.

I made all my complaints on the phone and the operator also said he would investigate my credit cards too.

I will send a letter to confirm what i have detailed even though they said they would confirm with me , I am also going to ask that my case is reviewed before them12 weeks as I am currently in a bit of financial hardship and have some bad debt.

After reading many posts on here I have now made it my prior new year resolution to keep on Halifax with this and peruse them just have they have done to me for every £30 and £12 charge over they years.

Any comments on the above would be of help , e.g if you think I have a case.
