We got the 'complaint upheld' letter 27th August, the calculation letter on 15th September and the cheque on our doormat yesterday. Yay!

It's going to make so much difference. Put it this way, it's gone from a near cancelled Christmas to a comfortable one!

Thanks to Martin, Dizzy Di, Amersall and all the other stars on this site.

Well done all the other winners and hold on in there whoever's still fighting.

    Hi All

Good news, finally got an offer today for ppi on my CC for 3.5k from Halifax. Not seen the breakdown of the calcs, but I believe that they may be wrong. My rough calculations show that I should expect 3k to 3.5k just from the straight refund of the PPI i paid over the 10 years or so. However, am I right in thinking that I should also get back the interest that was charged on this PPI (at the credit card rate). Either they haven't gone right back to the date I was charged the PPI from or they haven't charged the correct interest?

I don't want to sound greedy, but just want to know what to expect when I do receive the PPI calcs.

If anybody can help, that would great!!

    Thanks

    K
:jWell done on the win
It is possible they have only calculated a number of years,if you have no proof of all ppi paid, then i dont think you will get this back.
CC ppi redress is different to loans, someone who knows how the apr is calculated on these will post and help you with this.

They are already paying you 8% interest till it's settled, greedy git!!!!!!

Greedy git???? Quite right... I am. As the Banks etc were when they sold PPI wrongly. Were they not making enough in profits from high interest rates???

The companies who owe this money were greedy to begin with and they deserve to be on the other end of the greed for once.

Furthermore, the interest is only until they make the offer. After that they effectively have an interest free loan from me. Why should I not charge them interest on it?

So, you say greedy, I say, yes.... AND????

Lots of success all round for our family! My mum has had £4k back on a loan, my dad had £2.5k back and my mother in law got £3.2k all from either just phoning or sending the questionnaire off!! :j:j

And today hubby got a letter from Natwest and they are repaying £3k in credit card PPI! Again all I did was send the form off!:j:j

Still waiting to hear about his Barclaycard one. I'm going to do all mine now. Just annoying that I had a big clearout of paperwork last year so have not got all the account numbers!

  • Hi All, need help with this as it is stressing me out!!! :(

Posted my PPI mis-selling complaint on 2nd September to HSBC. Received a reply this morning saying they will uphold my claim - £3900! Great I though, until I saw that I can accept this and they will pay the entire amount to metropolitan collection services as I am in arrears with HSBC.

Now, I can understand HSBC want to re-claim the money as it is theirs, but the PPI was mi-sold in 2001 and the arrears are on a completely different loan account from 2006! Can HSBC do this? Does anyone know of anything I could do to get the money paid to me?

I've heard about your type - 'helping' people for a hefty cut of their own money. I might have to report you to FOS to claim that 0% back (with interest of course) :D

Seriously though - you hold a bright candle in these dark times my friend. Kudos.
  • Some Fantastic news!

After having the run around on a PPI claim, with numerous acceptance letters going missing, I E-mailed Pamela Thomas at Barclays on Tuesday to tell her of the nightmare we were having with our claim.

She e-mailed straight back, apologising for the extended wait, and said she would personally work on getting our cheques sent out within 7 working days.

Well...she e-mailed on Friday, to say she had the cheques and would be putting them in the post that day.

Lo and behold, they arrived today on the door mat!! Straight in the bank.

    One down, one to go!

    Thanks for all the support

    Hi All,

Of the 22 ppi claims in total that I'm claiming for family, I've had my first result!
Natwest have offered my lovely Mum 6.5k for mis-sold ppi.
To say I'm over the moon is an understatement! Had a few rejections but still confident about a few others.
