Are you still not working? it may be worth it to claim on the ppi if they back date it,you need to find out if the ppi only covers the minium payment each month,if it does then it is not worth it. Find out what you would be entitled to if you claim,if it is not worth it,then take this to FOS tell them you were mis sold this as you did not know you had it,and would have claimed if you had known.Hi,
I could do with some advice, as i have just had my PPI claim rejected by Capital One on the grounds that...1. PPI was sold on a non advisory basis . 2. Although I've been unemployed for a while due to an accident, i still may be able to claim. 3. I purchased PPi on the phone and if i had not it would not have been added. The facts are that i was not told about PPI on the phone and did not tick the box on the form. I didn't even know i had PPI, till i read about it on your site and checked my statement. I signed for the card on 15.04.06 and i was finished from work after a bad accident which has left me with a permanent disability on the 1.04.07 and would have claimed on it if i had know. I hadn't noticed it before as up until a couple of month's ago my wife did all our finances but has been so unwell that i have now had to sort things out.0 -
Claim put in with Halifax mid Sept for my loan, offer received on Saturday & cheque arrived today for £2,547.90!!!
Also, claims put in for MPPI mid October & offers so far from Halifax & Santander - £5,339.90 & £925.62!
Just waiting to hear from Nationwide re my MPPI & also claims for bank charges!
Can't believe how easy it has all been - anyone thinking of reclaiming - DO IT NOW! :j0 -
Convinced the wife to claim back her ppi on a loan of £20,000.
The repayment came to over £17,000 and she eventually got it all back. Unfortunately, instead of sending the forms off that I dowmloaded from this website she signed up with Gladstone Brookes.
They told her 'no win no fee' and charged her £50 admin fee up front and sent her the same forms to fill out as I had already downloaded.
Now the repayment has arrived Gladstone Brookes are asking for 25% PLUS another 20% for VAT.
I think it is a rip off and she shouldn't pay it.
Any advice?.......... Please!
I would love to see more info on this, a break down of the payment .. i can't understand how it's £17,000 on a £20,000 loan ... or is it so high because Gladstone Brookes did it for you.
But still great news:T0 -
Sent off forms printed off from this site to Santander at beginning of November re PPI I had on a (Cahoot) loan. Received a call the day after sending recorded post from lady who said my claim was being upheld, received an offer letter the week after for £1272 returned the next day and a week later (today) I found it had been put into bank account. If only rest of banks were like this!!
I just have a question if someone would be so kind to answer. have sent away for t & C's from a couple of credit cards that I could have sworn I had PPI on but when they arrived the box hadn't been ticked. I'm not sure if I should try to reclaim PPI as I honestly think I had it but due to shredding i don't have any proof. Is there any other way I can find out. Would a SAR tell me this info?0 -
Similar experience with my Natwest claim which was submitted in May an offer was received in September but I've had to send it back three times as they keep losing it, since sending it back I've found the original breakdown from the loan and the offer does not cover the amount paid. I've spoken to the PPI helpline who assure me I will receive all monies back, but cannot go through figures or confirm when that will be ! Should be re named Naff West !0

Today is the day LloydsTSB say the will pay me!
Today is the day that LloydsTSB did NOT pay me!0 -
Hi, i had a phone call today from HBOS, saying they are upholding my claim for ppi. No alculations yet. As the aqua credit card is part of a DMP i know i won't get the money back but at least it will reduce the amount i owe tham.
Annoying really as i may have been able to manage the payments better if i hadn't had the ppi added.

I completed the Ombudsman questionnaire - using the link on Martin's site and following his guidance document.
The Halifax wrote to me within 10 days to say they will be repaying me almost £17,000.
Thank you so much for your sound advice Martin0 -
