  • I downloaded the templates from this website and sent off my complaint over 6 months back now.
After requesting all the details regarding my loan Natwest claim to have 'lost' some of the files. I specifically remember being told that as i had not long turned 18 i would have to take out ppi to ensure i was protected, otherwise i may be refused the loan.
Well this turned out to be b*****x, and after finding out i payed approx £1200 for the PPI on a £5000 loan over five years i was shocked to say the least!
Natwest have given me an offer of nearly £2000 including interest which i happily accepepted on 7th September. They wrote to say they would pay the monies within 28 working days.
I was going on holiday so thought sod it, might aswell make this one to remember!!
After 28 days expired still no money, i rang 'Crap'wests PPI department who explained they only 'envedor' to pay back the money in 28 days (hmm can't help thinking what they would say if i used that one when i owed them some money!). Anyways its now been over 50 working days and still nothing. Even the PPI complaints department dont answer my calls anymore, it just rings through for 10 minutes then hangs up!!
The moral being never trust the sodding banks! Once money is recieved (if ever!) i will be cancelling all accounts with Natwest after 14 years of loyal banking. I shall enjoy that phone call!!

    • What were you reclaiming: loan
    • Who was the provider: Barclays
    • How much did you get back: £2855.00
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After a letter requesting all my data
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
I had a loan for £12,500 + PPI with Barclays in 1999, long time ago you may think and you'd be right. I didn't have any paperwork but because i owed a little bit of money on the account barclays had placed an account number on my online banking with a balance. So i put in a claim for misold PPI using these details and got a letter back saying that they couldn't find the details but here is a £500 "Goodwill Gesture"

Not happy with this i send a cheque for £10 and ask for all the data they hold on me. Two weeks later DHL deliver said papers almost 18 inches high from the ground. I start looking through it and a few weeks later i find a slip of paper with the original account number on it that says "please don't use this" underhanded you may think, you'd be right.

Two days ago i get a letter saying they are paying me £2,355.00 within 28 days, well worth a tenner.

Oh, best i mention the whole process took about a year !

    But i got back £2855.00

Good luck with your claim :)

Well done you and what fantastic perseverance!!!
  • recieved a letter from halifax today, amount of £565.80, which is about what i was expecting :)

interest is dated up until the 16/12/2011, so im guessing my check will arrive around that date and then after clearing will be the middle of the next week!! would have been excellent 10 days sooner, its the wifes birthday! put the complaint in mid/early june so not a bad turnaround tbh, but earlier would have been better. got it in time for christmas, can buy a few nice bits for her then :)

Hi, I don't want to burst your bubble but I received a letter 24 October advising that we would be getting 3 cheques (as soon as they are raised) and the interest was dated up to 20.11.11. This date has now passed and we are still awaiting 2 of the cheques. I have rang them and they cannot give me any timescales on when the cheques will be raised but did say that the interest will be recalculated up to the date the cheques are raised. Just thought I would warn you that you may not get them in time for 16.12.11. Di x

Hi, first time posting on here and hoping someone can help! Have received a rejection from Black Horse today and feeling a little dismayed as i have 5 other complaints which i am waiting for outcomes on. My reasons for mis-selling were 1. As a public sector worker i receive full sickness and redundancy cover 2.I do not recall being asked about my health/pre-existing conditions. Their response was that the telephone advisor would have sought details including existing cover and health and that the policy was suitable for me. They also state that i signed the agreement knowing that it was optional and that i could have cancelled the policy.
The letter states that i should contact them if i'm unhappy with the decision....i'm not happy strangely enough!!!:mad::mad:
Ask them for the recording as proof,if they are unable to supply this you will take it to FOS.
  • Well... just phoned PPI 'Concerns' as my 28 working days plus 4 additional weeks are but a distant memory. It won't be long before this line is shipped off to a foreign call centre I tell you.

The guy couldn't give me any sort of timescale for when my payment will be made. He couldn't put me through to my case handler or his manager and he couldn't confirm where my payment was in the queue. Utterly useless and appauling treatment of a customer of 20+ years.

I will be making a complaint about the handing of my complaint(!) and forward a copy to Stephen Hester, I'll continue to ring them whenever I can. I'm also going to log it with Watchdog...

Keep smiling people... tis almost the season to be jolly! :snow_laug
