  • two cheques received from First Plus

My acceptance letter was received by FP on the 18th October. So by my maths thats 5 weeks today.

The acceptance letter stated cheques for £3831.14 and £555.24.

The letter that arrived today is a bit odd...

It states ' we have applied the refund of your PPI premium plus interest to the account balance.
Enclosed a cheque for £290.71 payable just to me for payments made to PPI policy.
Enclosed a cheque for £576.05 for the 8% payable to my hubby'

Behind the letter was two cheques £3973.34 and £576.05 both payable to my hubby.

Well done to all other winners

Well Done! thats Great news .........:j

  • Hi there,

3 months ago I found some v old paperwork that I thought would back up a PPI claim, so I put in 4 separate claims to Lloyds TSB, dating back to 1994. I knew it would be a long shot, but I thought, why not, as I knew I'd been pressured to take out PPI not just on a Lloyds Mastercard but also 2 loans and an overdraft.

Just had a letter re: the credit card claim, offering me just over £3k refund. Having done a quick calculation, I think they have backdated it six years and not the whole 'life' of the credit card account but then I did't have any supporting paperwork when I submitted the claim. So I have decided to accept the offer and be done with it.

However, I did submit supporting paperwork for the other 3 claims, and as I submitted all 4 claims at the same time, I hope I will hear some more news soon!

I think the CC ppi team are more on the bull than the sleepy loans team :rotfl: so hopefully you hear very soon ;)

  • Hi, first time posting on here and hoping someone can help! Have received a rejection from Black Horse today and feeling a little dismayed as i have 5 other complaints which i am waiting for outcomes on. My reasons for mis-selling were 1. As a public sector worker i receive full sickness and redundancy cover 2.I do not recall being asked about my health/pre-existing conditions. Their response was that the telephone advisor would have sought details including existing cover and health and that the policy was suitable for me. They also state that i signed the agreement knowing that it was optional and that i could have cancelled the policy.
The letter states that i should contact them if i'm unhappy with the decision....i'm not happy strangely enough!!!:mad::mad:
  • Having fought with Lloyds for 18 months to get them to recognise financial hardship and CAB/CCCS proposals for a DMP, my expectations aren't that great :-) And much as I'm tempted to spend some on a proper holiday (3 years of windswept weekends camping in UK, charity shop clothes, growing own veg and second hand presents for nephew has been hard work at times), I am going to ask them to offset any refunds against what I owe so that I can get shot of them forever. My sanity is worth ore :-)

  • I posted a few months back that I had Welcome Finance paying out on one PPI claim and referring one to FSCS. I have had a response to say i am getting a payment. That is a total of £2400 of my cash back just by using the advice and forms from this website.
I tell people on a daily basis to fill the forms and claim their cash back.:money:

I have sent paperwork to First Plus and they have sent me a copy of my original application and told me to contact FSCS

I have also written to NEXT regarding my wifes Catalogue and they have rejected the claim based on time (1993) and terms and conditions and the fact it was stated on every statement. The onus was on my wife to tell them she didnt require the cover.:mad::mad:THIS CANNOT BE OK can it? Has anyone had any success with NEXT?

Looks ok to me, but some of the others are better at calculations, but ideally you'd need the amounts of the ppi monthly charge.

You say loan 2 got paid off by loan 3, there could've been some carried forward into that loan, you'd need to know the settlement figures for paying off loan 2 with loan settlement and ppi settlement, as if there's a difference it would've been carried forward, plus was there ppi on loan 3?:D

    Hi smitchy73

Thanks for your reply, the loan agreements don't have monthly amounts for ppi just total amount payable each month which was:

    Loan 1: £176.43
    Loan 2: £172.67

Still waiting on them to get back to me about the other loans, another 3 in total all with ppi on them:D They have stated the interest is to 14/11/2011 should the payment have been received by then?

    Hi weechicken,
I had a quick look at your figures and they looked Ok to me also but smitchy responded first :) Yes you should have received payment before that date, obviously you haven't, unless it's a typo and you mean 14/12/2011 ? If it is a typo I hope it arrives, I have a date of 12/12/2011 and will post if it arrives before but I'm not holding my breath :(
