PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Haven't visited this site now for some time so am a bit rusty with publishing posts etc. I have had one success with First Direct (£5,200) but have since been rejected by EGG (Credit Card) Capital One (CC) and M&S Money (CC). Have largely ignored the issue for the last few months due to work committments. Having re-read the rejection letters today I am fired up to revisit again but it is so frustrating!! Find all of your comments and posts very helpful however so I am giving it another go this afternoon.0

Have just phoned Lloyds and asked for an update on my credit card PPI claim that I put in, the 12 weeks was due to be up this Saturday. The man in the call centre took great delight in reading the letter that was loaded on the account today out to me after asking if I was sat down first.
They are paying me out £13,406.46 !!!!!!!!!!!
I had to ask him to repeat it to make sure I'd got it right, he RECKONS that the credit card side are making payments faster than the loans side and although the letter I will receive will say it's being paid in a cheque, they will pay it directly into my Lloyds account and it will definately be there before Christmas. That I will definately be taking with a pinch of salt, and fully expect to have to chase and chase again for the payment....... but WOW !!! Thank you Martin Lewis forumite's for letting me lurk and read all your success stories and pitfalls, which gave me the courage to put the claim in to start with.... lets wait till January now and see if they pay hubbies loan PPI out !

Hi,
I could do with some advice, as i have just had my PPI claim rejected by Capital One on the grounds that...1. PPI was sold on a non advisory basis . 2. Although I've been unemployed for a while due to an accident, i still may be able to claim. 3. I purchased PPi on the phone and if i had not it would not have been added. The facts are that i was not told about PPI on the phone and did not tick the box on the form. I didn't even know i had PPI, till i read about it on your site and checked my statement. I signed for the card on 15.04.06 and i was finished from work after a bad accident which has left me with a permanent disability on the 1.04.07 and would have claimed on it if i had know. I hadn't noticed it before as up until a couple of month's ago my wife did all our finances but has been so unwell that i have now had to sort things out.0 -

Hi Lisa, bit thick here but how would I see the letter? I'm completing my own FOS questionnaire on my Capital1 compaint today - I'm sure the letters were identical! Good luck anyway x0 -
Finally got the letter from HBOS after 24 weeks, offering me £4,500!! I've called to accept, now just need to wait for the cheque to come through... Another 23 weeks perhaps?0

Hi, sorry I'm such a technophobe about links etc but i've got it listed on the ppi forum as 'my ppi journey is now well under way' or search my threads by lisaf?

two cheques received from First Plus
My acceptance letter was received by FP on the 18th October. So by my maths thats 5 weeks today.
The acceptance letter stated cheques for £3831.14 and £555.24.
The letter that arrived today is a bit odd...
It states ' we have applied the refund of your PPI premium plus interest to the account balance.
Enclosed a cheque for £290.71 payable just to me for payments made to PPI policy.
Enclosed a cheque for £576.05 for the 8% payable to my hubby'
Behind the letter was two cheques £3973.34 and £576.05 both payable to my hubby.
Well done to all other winners0 -
