    Hi weechicken,
I had a quick look at your figures and they looked Ok to me also but smitchy responded first :) Yes you should have received payment before that date, obviously you haven't, unless it's a typo and you mean 14/12/2011 ? If it is a typo I hope it arrives, I have a date of 12/12/2011 and will post if it arrives before but I'm not holding my breath :(

Thanks dilus, the letter does state 14/11/2011 so think I'll give them a call 2moro about payment and see if they've decided on the others will keep you posted.
Hopefully we do receive the payments before Dec would be a great bonus for xmas
many thanks for everyone's help so much appreciated :A

In that case they have to add further interest daily (it's not a lot) but yes chase them up and let us know how you get on please as I have a feeling I may have to do the same ;)
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)
  • Convinced the wife to claim back her ppi on a loan of £20,000.

The repayment came to over £17,000 and she eventually got it all back. Unfortunately, instead of sending the forms off that I dowmloaded from this website she signed up with Gladstone Brookes.

They told her 'no win no fee' and charged her £50 admin fee up front and sent her the same forms to fill out as I had already downloaded.

Now the repayment has arrived Gladstone Brookes are asking for 25% PLUS another 20% for VAT.

I think it is a rip off and she shouldn't pay it.

    Any advice?.......... Please!

  • What were you reclaiming: Wasn't sure, guessed around £250
    Who was the provider:
    Aqua Credit Card (Halifax)

How much did you get back:
    £650 including interest

Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:
    After sending 1st letter

And then write your brief reclaim tale:
I sent letter on 7th Sept 11 (Signed for on 9th) then chased up on 27th Sept to be told complaint han't been registered. Heard nothing for weeks, but checked account this morning and 3 payments had been added. Premiums, APR interest and 8% interest totalling approx £650. Had no paperwork yet, and I fully expect them to raise a cheque from the balance so not going to rush out and use it!
Wage Day Advance, Quick Quid, Pounds to Pocket and Pounds Till Payday....i'm after you

    • What were you reclaiming: 2 years @ £15 a month, ?£360
    • Who was the provider: Barclays Additions Active
    • How much did you get back: £180
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: a brief email from their website
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
Didn't even realise I'd been being charged a monthly fee for 2 years, still not 100% sure what for nor do I care. This is my only bank account opened age 15 (now 28) and was only ever meant to a basic debit card account.

I sent a brief email from Barclays website, got 3 phone calls in 3 days. Long story short offered me 1 years fee refunded and I'm very happy with this seeing as I should have noticed sooner. In future I will read what comes in the post with my statements more carefully.

Whole thing took less than a week and money will be in my bank account by lunch time

Hi - can I just check that I have got this correctly. You have had your claim with Capital One upheld - the PPI was introduced when you rang to activate card ?

Reason for my interest is that I have had my claim with them declined based on exactly that reason they are saying that I started it during a phone conversation to activate the card. They also said that "their employees were well trained " and that they included a transcript of the script used - which they DIDNT include.

I would like to now go back to them and say that they are lacking consistency and stating that I know of the same reason/excuse where it was upheld .

Do you please have an email for the CEO of Captial One so I can send my rocket please ???!!!!

    Thanks !:D

    Hi sorry missed this!

yes I took the card out but didn't tick the box and was sold the PPI over the phone in 2004, I do remember the chap selling to me and looking back it was all a load of bull, I can't remember agreeing to it and as I've worked in sales most of my life probs l told him to send me something to look at. If they have a transcript of my tel convo they will hear somebody very confused lol. But yes this to my memory is what happened. I'm just waiting for the cheque

    However

I have a similar exp to you with Santander, they have rejected with a similar response to yours from Capital One, I have emailed them back telling them I don't accept their decision and want a copy of my original applicatin form and a copy of the tel convo (if there is one!)

    I'll post if/when I hear back

    Good luck:beer:
    MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
    Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:
