Wrote to Halifax 10 days ago been meaning to do it for 6 months but had not got around to it. Had a reply today offering us £3,300 which includes 8%. Amazing no hassle, filled in halifax ppi reclaiming form and put in letter explaining how it was sold. Took out policy in April 2007 and cancelled it for cheaper one in April 2011 all monies paid got back!!
    Thanks MSE xx

    Hi Guys

Received our first reclaim today of £1200 from RBS. Of the figure £787 has been repaid direct into our RBS account that was for the PPI but we've still to receive the interest accrued from this which is just short of £500. Is thi the Norm?

Also we had another loan with RBS and we were told that they would look at this one as well but haven't heard anything on it.

It took us 7 week from complaining to getting the good news and a further week and a half to receive this payment, quite prompt under the circumstances.

I'm now going to claim on two RBS credit cards we had as the circumstances are identical and this should hopefully have a positive resolution as well.

    Any thoughts?
Congartulations on your success. I put in a claim in early 2009 for a loan and two credit cards. Got just over £9000 from the loan in December last year after rejection from RBS and going to FOS. Heard nothing about the credit cards until this September when I got a letter saying that they could not find any evidence of premiums being paid but if I had any statements they would review the case. Amazingly I found two statements from 1997 & 1998 clearly showing premiums paid. Sent them off to them and today got a letter saying that they could still not find any evidence of premiums being paid and did I have any more statements that would make a calculation of redress ore meaningfull! I don't have any more statements - still amazed that I actually found the two from the late 90s - any advice of what I should reply? Feel that I am nearly there and they are just stalling.

Are you actually saying it took only eight and a half weeks from your initial complaint to receiving your money? Amazing! Wonder why some of us have been waiting over 15 months - and yet only this week they told me they are definitely dealing with them in date order. I believe some people have been waiting longer than I have.

    Well done and enjoy.

  • Hello all, I received a Letter from Halifax in august saying that they would be repaying the PPI premiums that i had paid plus interest, :-) but they did not confirm the amount, i am still waiting for them to confrim how much they will be paying and when , i am calling them every week, but they just keep saying they are busy.

    anyone else had this problem?
  • I am absolutely disgusted with lloyds.I live in kent and have family in newcastle on wed a family emergency came up,i rang the ppi line explained i need to get to newcastle and told them the reason. I explained that i didnt have the finances, they rang me back and said the money would be in my account within two days. i rang this morning only to be told that because i had money in my account that it wasnt an emergency.I had £230.40 in my account and i explained that £72.00 was owed to british gas which they have been chasing me for and that £113.00 was for council tax. Which left me £50.00.
They said they have sent out a cheque but wont tell me how much for.I asked how long this would take and they couldnt comment.I was told on the 2/11/11 that a letter was sent to me regarding the re calculations because i have been waiting since 23/08/11 i still havent had said letter so god Knows how long the cheque will take.

    Hi there

Yes unfortunately there are a lot in the same position, and as they are under the umbrella with Lloyds its the same for them as well.

What we are suggesting is to contact your local MP, ask if they will contact/write to them on your behalf.
You will need to explain to your MP of this matter and your still waiting 3 months on.
Remember your MP will want your support with a vote at some point, or maybe you have done previously.

Give it a shot, maybe they will get it moving for you, good luck.;)

    Hi there

    Blmey "outragious" indeed.

I would be inclined to send in a written complaint about this and contact the Financial Service Association (FSA) not the FOS on how your being treated with this case.

I do hope you get your money soon, but I would also complain about the customer service, good luck.
