Many thanks for the help I think I have to cash in cos it wont be anymore for 5 loans with halifax Ive got £3200 back tesco paid me £3268 and mint have paid 1970 so six months ago I had no money my name and now I got 9k ish, This site is great and people like yourself make it great with the superb advice. Just one last bit I took aloan out with goldfish in early 2000's I dont have the details I take it im wasting my time trying without an agrrement and no details at all
Your welcome, if the Goldfish loan was paid off before 2006 you may struggle as banks only have to keep records for 6 years after they have finished, so it may not be worth doing a SAR. I think Goldfish is now Barclay's you could try phoning them and asking if they have any information regarding this loan. Di may be on to advise betterSuccesses
Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid
MBNA £3,600 Paid0 -
I'm now on day 70 of waiting for my money following receipt of my acceptance form at Barclaycard
Numerous phone calls - just to be told the same every time, it is in the queue. . . we have a backlog. . . . we're trying to process payments as soon as possibe! All very polite - but no help at all!
I have now sent two e-mails to Bob Diamond - no acknowledgement or response
I can't believe that no-one in the company can give me an indication of when I am likely to get the money - just a rough idea is all I want - I never imagined I would be waiting 10 weeks. . . Capital One refunded £6700.00 within one week of receipt of acceptance!
Get a move on Barclays!!0 -

I know, I'm getting really frustrated with this now - my acceptance letter was received on 9th September
I appreaciate the fact that they have hundreds of thousands of claims to deal with - but I asked if they are all being dealt with in date order and they said yes, but my brother in law put his claim in after mine, accepted after me and had his money refunded over two weeks ago so I can't see how this can be the case!0 -

Well I just literally put down the phone to the Financial Ombudsman who themselves are hearing an average of 40 days is being experienced by most and that its seems to be sheer numbers however she was keen to state that this is not a firm timeline but just from the feedback they are getting from the consumer. You can set up a seperate complaint however she again was keen to advice that this in itself could delay the payments further......0 -
would it be possible for someone to give me a bit of advice please. last week i posted on here that id received 5090.65 i was delighted i paid my own and my daughters credit card off so now were debt free .or so i thought .yesterday i phoned the bank to ask for a breakdown off the payment as i hadnt received anything .the man i spoke to said mine hasnt been done yet and i wasnt to spend any of it till they sort it out but its all gone he said not to worry he would ring me back to day .i was expecting about 2500 but everyone has been saying that the amount there were expecting has been different i really thought it was mine ,it was paid direct to my bank account .any advice would be welcome ,my nerves are shot i cannot pay it back ,0

Put it on the credit card lol (joking)
No idea what will happen here, just lets hope they have it wrong.
Maybe you'll be offered the chance to pay back over time/.0 -

Yeh, I've spoken to them myselves earlier in the process, and was told something similar . . . I think we're just going to have to wait it out I'm afraid - I certainly don't want to delay things even further, I will continue to call - there's no harm in that, they have always been more than polite with me on the phone. . . I understand they are just giving as much information as they are allowed to - I just hope it's here before Christmas as it would make things so much easier! Good Luck0 -

Can I just ask though, I have put in a claim to them on the 18th October and only today received the letter that says I have to wait up to 8 weeks while they investigate. How long did you wait from that letter til getting offer? I still have my card and only just discovered that am paying PPI, I am a civvy so no good to me, they say I bought it over the phone when activating my card in 2005.
Thanks and well done again
I sent them a letter on 12th October and got a letter back to say they were looking into it and to wait 56 days, the offer came yesterday. I'd ring them, their own literature states they will get back to you within 5 working days
I ticked no to the box when I applied for the card I was mis sold the insurance when I called to activate the card in the summer of 2004, I remember the guy waffling on for ages about how it would cover all my cards and my partners. I had no need for the insurance as I was on maternity leave at the time (SMP so very low) and was returning part time so my partner would have taken responsibility for any payments. I don't remember saying yes. My guess is that if they do still have the telephone conversation on their records it's full of old flannel and they realised they didn't have a leg to stand on. However I expected more of a fight from them than this
I still have Santander to fight though
let me know how it goes and if I can help:)MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:0
