  • Hi can someone tell me what the procedure is for paying the tax on the interest that you get. I have at no point given my N insurance number to the banks, im awaiting 3 claims so dont wanna contact inland revenue and say I got a claim back then do the same 2 weeks late and then the same a month after I wanna get it done in one hit. Also because I dont live in the most secure area I had all my claims sent to my parents house would a tax letter go there

    cheers

...update on my successful Halifax credit card claim... Cheque arrived today! It's cost me 2 first class stamps, I originally submitted my claim mid-September.

This is the third or fourth post that ive read where halifax have upheld credit card complaints and issued cheques within a few weeks!! Ive read about complaints LODGED in sept and oct getting responses and cheques already?? Seems very strange indeed given all the August and early sept uphelds still waiting for cheques?? Have their new staff been given new procedures etc ie one dept doing all, quickly!! They are certainy bypassing all of us oldtimers the acceptance received early sept gang.... All still waiting!! Complaint submitted mid may :mad:

Any joy on your payouts for Halifax customers. Just looking to get a comparision on dates etc. Have sent in my acceptance letter 25th August so they got it 2nd September which was 10 and 1/2 weeks ago now. Any1 got a similar time period or have already been paid??
Emailed and phoned on several occasions but always the same response. When we got our acceptance letters in August, my wife and I both thought great we will save our payout til christmas sure it was 4months away at that stage, how naive of us!!!!
I will be interested in peoples responses.
Hi ROH, have a look at the separate halifax redress thread, you'll see theres a big gang of us with those dates still waiting!!! I suspect they issued a huge batch of upheld letters at the end of august and are making a hash of getting to the calculations and payment stage. Newer complaints are being paid daily while our dates seem to be sitting. Maybe you will have better luck than us. They received my acceptance on 3rd sept:mad::mad:

    Hi all,

I am after a bit of advice please.

I have had a win with firstplus but I am currently in a debt managment plan due to getting into finicail dificcults a couple of years back which I am dealing with by agreed payments.

As it happens a couple of my creditors, Sky and Egg, are now owned by Barclycard and I was wondereing if they would take all the money to redress these cards or would they pay me the money which I would forward to the DMP company to spread across all my creditors.

If they do use the money to redress the other debts would they forward the 8% interest to me whcih I could forward to the DMP company as I am concerned that my credit file will suddenly show I have paided Barclays a lot of money which gives my other criditors the hump, which had previously happened when ppi was applied back to my argos card whcih triggered a improved credit rating and a 1010 questions from disgruntled creditors.

    Thanks for your help.
Hi well done on your sucess:jI am also on a DMP and had a sucess with Firstplus, recieved my cheques on Saturday all money was paid direct to me even though Barclaycard and Egg are part of my DMP.

Hi ROH, I sent my complaint e-mail to the CEO of Halifax on 4.8.11 and received a letter afew days later. I then did not hear anything so I rang them about 3 weeks ago and was told that a letter had been sent out to me the day before upholding my claim for 1 loan and also 2 others that they found we had and paid off previously. I received a cheque a couple of days later for 1 of the loans for around £3,700 and am awaiting 2 others which total around £3,000. I did ring them the other day chasing these 2 cheques and was told that they do not have timescales for this but if I do not get them until after 20.11.11 (the date they have calculated the 8% interest up to) then they will recalculate the interest and I will get paid more. 20th November is this week so I wait with baited breath. Good luck. Diane

  • two weeks ago, I applied online for a barclaycard, I had previously held one, but didn't do well with it. anyway, they sent me a letter saying no, because i had held a card before and not run it in line with their T and C's. Fair enough I thought, but then decided to claim back PPi on that card I had had. Guess what they returned my complaint saying I hadnt given enough information (no account number, haven't got it) in order for them to process my complaint any further. What a load of B@£$%x, they can find me based on my online app but can't to process my claim that had more info on!!! Needless to say, I just emailed them to let them know how i feel........Round Two!!!

    Well, round two results=
I emailed barclaycard regarding above and today I received this email

"Please accept my sincere apologises. I can confirm I have located your account and have passed this information to the relevant team.

Our PPI team will contact you urgently upon initial review of your complaint.

    Yours sincerely

it has to be said the response was quick, so fair play to this lady, and aint it funny how all of a sudden they found my account.
round three...........lets see what they come up with next, I can write a mean email when the Vodka kicks in heehee:rotfl:
IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???
  • minimad69

Can I ask what further info you had to produce for them to double the offer
