Go for it - we had a £25,000.00 loan with Sainsburys , our PPI premiums plus interest were over £11,000 on top of the loan! Got a letter today from Bank of Scotland saying we are getting it all refunded plus interest at 8%, totaling a staggering £13,997.17!!!!!!!! Martin, it's all thanks to you and this site! I downloaded the template and expected a long winded battle, ombudsman etc, but no. I am very , very HAPPY!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Deb,

How long did it take for you to receive your calculation from when you sent the acceptance form back? I sent mine back on 26th August but to date have not had a letter from them with the calculation and I have called them today and they said that there is no timescale as to when they have to reply?? grrrr so frustrating waiting!! Many thanks Donna

  • Hi,

First time poster . . .I've been waiting 9 weeks today since my acceptance letter was received by barclaycard

Keep ringing but keep getting told they do not have an any timscale in which to pay out after the offer has been accepted - that they are very busy and because my offer is for a very large amount, it has to go through so many more security checks

My offer was dated 31.08.11 - so what happens to the 72 days worth of interest whilst they have been holding onto my money?

I was also just wondering if anyone could give me the e-mail for the CEO of Barclaycard to see if I can get something moving

    Thanks in anticipation

Also,if you are a non taxpayer,or you have not earned or wont earn your tax code in the year from last april to next, you dont pay tax on the 8%.

Thank you for the info. I have not returned back to work after my maternity finished so am unemployed i suppose. The bank have already taken it off what they have paid me so do you know how i go about claiming it back as i haven't earned my tax quoter this year and won't.

    Thanks

  • We have had a mortgage with Britannia BS - now owned by the Co-operative and when the hoo ha about PPI began we decided we had also been mis-sold it and wrote to them to make a claim. They are adamant we have NOT been mis-sold and refused to accept our claim so we have put it with the Ombudsman, which could take up to a year.
I had tried to do it the nice way and only asked for our payments to be refunded. However, since we have had to go to these lengths we will now hold out for the full deal, including interest and compensation, so we are keeping everything crossed that we will, finally, get a payout, but won't lose any sleep over it in the meantime.
Co-operative obviously think they are above the law (or any other rules and regulations). They have lied to us all the way through and have made false statements from when we applied for our mortgage, saying we told them things that were blatanly untrue and which we would never had said in a million years, to try to cover their deception and incompetence. They even used the wrong address when sending documents back to us as supposed "proof" they had not mis-sold and would not accept that they had made a mistake. In short, they suck! We have paid off the bulk of our mortgage with them to get this clear and have only left the amount we had originally wanted to reclaim as a balance. They have since sent us letters to say they will take us to court "for arrears" despite the fact we are about 4 years in advance of our payments! I have told them to go ahead, as that should also cost them plenty, suing us for overpaying our mortgage! Robbing, lying swines is all I can say.
  • I submitted the PPI questionaire to the Co-operative Bank back in August this year. I had thought to myself that if I don't ask, I won't get. Boy, am I glad I did. I came home from work yesterday only to find that the Co-operative Bank had responded and I'm now in line for a refund of £2221.79. Happy is an understatement - I am overjoyed!!

I have also submitted a questionaire to Opus Credit Card who came back recently with a big old fat NO. Needless to say I will be contacting the Financial Ombudsman.

I would encourage everyone who is thinking about it to go for it.

hello all, another win to report! and also a question to go with it. Got around £3k back from 5 loans with RBS (don't have exact figures as only got told over the phone!) with each loan being 'topped up' and the old account paid and closed. I have one active loan (the 5th and final lol) where I cancelled my PPI in 2009. Will I be expecting the PPI payment in relation to this last loan to be put towards the remainder of the balance outstanding? I am aware that if there is PPI, the remaining loan amount will be restructured as if no PPI had been taken out but obv this was done in 2009 when the PPI was removed?

    Any help gratefully received!!

and a big THANK YOU again to everyone here, so far had wins of roughly £5k and waiting on one more. x

  • Good afternoon all, does anyone know how long it takes to get the offer letter from Sainsburys/Bank of Scotland. I sent back my acceptance of offer form in August and have still not had a response!! I called them today and they said that they had no timeline for offer payments as they are awaiting the calculations from the calculations team and they have a huge back log etc etc etc.
    Many thanks
