I sent my complaint to Santander on Tuesday by recorded delivery and received a phone call on Wednesday to say my complaint has been upheld and I will be receiving full reimbursement of all premiums plus 8%.

This was for my mortgage, not sure if it matters what your complaint is against (ie loan, credit card etc) but should all be actioned in same way?

Hopefully you will hear soon xx:)

thanks for that, I originally sent the email on Tuesday but heard nothing so I re sent it yesterday and recieved a response saying they would pass it on to the correct dept, not sure if they have my phone number, it would have been my old work mobile I gave them as I took the Mothercare card out in Feb 2004! lol fingers crossed there's a letter in the post in the next few days:j
    MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
    Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:

    My HSBC Loan is = £15,000 at 8.9% back in 2004 ( for 8 years )

    Payments are = £381 a month ( including ppi )

I have made 83 payments of £381 and still have 13 left.

    A £15,000 loan over 8 years with 8.9% interest is £21,021

but i have already paid £31,623.

if i never put my claim for mis-sold ppi i would of paid back a grand-total
of £36,576 JUST for a £15,000 loan over 8 years.

I have already been to HSBC bank and the lady even said i will get my mis-sold money back. and i`m guessing that i have been paying ppi included into my loan with 8.9% interest since day one.

My question is: if i have paid them £31,623 already and i should of paid them WITHOUT ppi included £18,177.......should i get the difference back?????

( i am at my 10th week waiting for a final responce!! )

when the guy at HSBC finalized my loan he said for a £15,000 loan over 8 years with ppi included comes to £26,130.

THAT JUST DOES NOT ADD UP AT ALL!!!

if anyone can help me out with any of this or if someone is in a simulair situation i would be so grateful for your help and advice!

    Thankyou!

With this loan still running, you get the 83 ppi payments back that you have paid with 8%,the whole ppi amount is taken off the loan and this reduces your balance and your monthly payment for the loan reduces by the ppi monthly amount.
when the guy at HSBC finalized my loan he said for a £15,000 loan over 8 years with ppi included comes to £26,130.
This may not have included the interest on the loan and ppi,if your monthly payment for the loan and ppi totals what you said to date, this could be the interest,he forgot to tell you!!!.
Having said that, this should be on the agreement.
    A £15,000 loan over 8 years with 8.9% interest is £21,021
This is just the loan and not the ppi plus interest.

Go for it - we had a £25,000.00 loan with Sainsburys , our PPI premiums plus interest were over £11,000 on top of the loan! Got a letter today from Bank of Scotland saying we are getting it all refunded plus interest at 8%, totaling a staggering £13,997.17!!!!!!!! Martin, it's all thanks to you and this site! I downloaded the template and expected a long winded battle, ombudsman etc, but no. I am very , very HAPPY!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More good news - claim number 2 has been upheld with the Halifax. I had no paperwork from the original loan but did manage to find a reference number. Anyway 12 weeks into the permitted 16 I've been told I will be receiving a very nice £2970. Hopefully the cheque will arrive before Santa Claus does....

The letter doesn't give any indication of timescales for payment - ideally how much time Halifax are allowed to issue the cheque but more importantly how long its really taking them!!!

Thanks once again to the wonderful people on this site!

    Hi everyone,

Just a few questions to ask.

Has anyone received their loan cheques from Lloyds/TSB, had my credit card cheques but no loan cheque?.

Also I had a credit card with Capital One and can't find the account number as I have paid it off how do you find out your account number?.

I had PPI on my Littlewoods account and paid that off has anyone made a claim against them and been successful?.

Also I think I have asked already but I have found out Land of Leather has gone in to liquidation but I had PPI cover and didn't need it on my settee agreement how do I go about getting a claim together against them as the loan was with Open and Direct who are still going!

Thanks for all your help. :)

Just had an e-mail from Bob Diamond's office they have got my cheques infront of them and are putting them in the post today.

    Yippee, Yippee

I can buy my son a car now, get rid of that wretched Marks and Spencer credit card and decorate my bedroom and maybe treat myself to a bottle of perfume.

Let you know how long they are in the post for. xxxxxxxxxx

Well, in September I realised I had ppi on my credit card that I never asked for or wanted. My card is with the Halifax. I cancelled the policy in September and used the template letter and questionnaire to complain and claim a refund. Just checked my online statement and I've been refunded £1700 including interest! It's been taken straight back out again as I have no arrears so they are sending me a cheque :-) :j

What were you reclaiming: Credit Card
    Who was the provider: Halifax
How much did you get back: £1705.72
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Sent letter to request Credit Agreement initially, then I sent letter and questionnaire.
And then write your brief reclaim tale: They sent an intial acknowledgement of my complaint within days (12th Sept). Today I was in my online banking when I saw the amount of refund, interest and rebate totalling £1705.72 which was credited then taken straight out again in the form of a cheque which I should receive shortly (I phoned them to make sure of this).
