PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

mine was a really old loan which id paid off and all i had was an old reference off a bank statement and they had all the details  thats really quick settling!! :T im just confused as to why its been so quick for you and not others, My letter was dated 12th Oct and ive not heard a peep
Yes, I'm confused too - although pleased for my DH that it's come through so quickly- as on previous complaints I've made to LTSB, even prior to the Judicial Review, the refunds always took at least the specified time to arrive and on my own current complaint which went through the FOS my refund offer was received a week earlier than DH's but no sign of a cheque yet.
What I meant about the fact that it was a very old loan with no supporting paperwork was that maybe the refund has been processed more quickly because there were no calculations necessary - they offered a set figure of £1200, which apparently LTSB do when no documentary evidence (other than account number, dates of loan) survives so there is no interest to work out etc etc.......
That said, the one I am awaiting is a similar scenario - a loan dating from early 1990s for which I have nothing but the dates and loan account number and I have again agreed to accept a set figure of £1200.
Will post here when that one arrives and hope you don't have to wait too much longer for yours!Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I am currently awaiting a decision from Lloydstb re PPI on my credit card but the ppi was taken out in 2003 which is outside the 6 year rule. I dont have copies of the paperwork, are they likely to turn me down for this?
Thanks

My Oh received the "you will receive redress in 40 days" letter on September 3rd from Barclays. Even a line saying that the calculation would include 8% for the 40 day wait!
Nothing has arrived.
Emailed Bob Diamond.
Today we got a letter saying "thank you for your letter of complaint to Bob Diamond, we are looking into it...... and the time frame for PPI is 8 weeks......."
