PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Congratulations on receiving your payout, I complained back in April and despite having a letter with a settlement figure on 8th September I still having had my money.Had another letter from Lloyds TSB apologising for the delay in making my payment (still 2 days from deadline date) and they had recalculated adding £70 to my amount. My payment was now a priority and would be paid by transfer to account to speed up process.
Blah blah heard it all before, but take it all back £7000 transferred into my account this morning. First complained in May so process quite drawn out but not as bad as some I know.
Thanks for the help and good luck to everyone !:j0 -
Just called the FSCS to check whether they had received my application to reclaim PPI from Picture - which they had. All OK and has been passed onto the data gathering team - what does this mean?0

However, in March 1997 they automatically changed it to Payment Protection without my knowledge or consent. This continued until July 2002 and totals about £634 - I still have all the statements.
They have rejected my complaint - making one fundamental incorrect assumption which I will challenge - but they also state that I cannot progress it to the FOS because the 'sale' took place before they became signatories to the General Insurance Standards Council Code of Practice.
Are they correct in stating I cannot take it to the FOS and if so is there a way around it ? Thanks.
I know someone who got a £3200 pay from B/card on a 665 premuim total with almost exactly the same dates as yours ... 100% stay with it & if needs be go via the fos"onwards & upwards"0 -
Took my FP complaint to the top, Mr Bob Diamond CEO, just had e-mail from his office, apolgising and stating I will be paid out in 7 working days. Don't think he would dare lie to me, would he?0

hi all,
Ive had a response from HSBC and they say the PPI was correct. I still dont think it was-
1, when I went into the bank to get the loan the monthly repayment was given to me as £120 approx, this included PPI and I was not given the option of without, nor was it mentioned it included PPI
2, When the documents were printed the PPI was very briefly explained to me. The lady said that if I signed for this insurance then I would get the money in my account the same day, if I didnt then it would be delayed. Needing the money to get a car the next day I signed it.
The response I have is basically going on the fact I signed the agreement, which yes I clearly did but the letter did not make any excuses for the £120 price nor why I was not given the option. Im not happy with the response-what do you guys think I should do?
Cheers:money::rotfl::T0 -

mine was a really old loan which id paid off and all i had was an old reference off a bank statement and they had all the details :cool: thats really quick settling!! :T im just confused as to why its been so quick for you and not others, My letter was dated 12th Oct and ive not heard a peepphoebe1989seb wrote: »Just reporting a win/refund from LTSB - amazingly received well within the recommended time-frame. Complaint put in during July this year. Offer letter received 25th October. Cheque arrived today!!!
Admittedly this was for a very old loan that was paid off early many years back and neither we nor LTSB had any paperwork other than the account number and the dates the loan started/ended. As a result of this DH was offered a standard £1200 refund which he was happy to accept - we never expected the cheque would arrive so quickly though.......:j0 -
