  • Hi All,

I sent the ppi recaiment form at the start of August to Bank of Scotland, I recieved a letter mid August saying they would investigate my claim and would reply to me within 16 weeks.
On the 1st of November I recieved my letter with my offer. I telephoned them to ask if it would be a cheque sent and not a refund on to my credit card as the account was closed. They said a cheque would be sent.
I then came on here and was worried that lot's of you were having issues with waiting times!
However my cheque arrived yesterday (9/11/11).
It was all thanks to reading this site and these forums!

    Many Thanks!x

Hi I am new to this website but have found it to be an invaluable source of knowledge in helping me to do my own PPI reclaims. I have had success with Sainsbury's whom I had 3 loans with, they have upheld the claim on the last loan but I have not had a figure back yet even though I sent the acceptance letter in August!! They also did not take into account the 2 previous loans I had with them but I called them today and they said all 3 loans were ready to be calculated but they just had a backlog, so fingers crossed I should hear soon.

My main concern is Barclaycard, I received a letter from them to say"Our sales process used at the time of sale required our staff to state that the policy was optional and we can find no reason to suggest that optionality was not discussed with you. This would also have been disclosed in the pre and post sales literature which was sent to you."

To be honest I cannot remember how I originally applied for my Barclaycard as it was 20 years ago, but I am sure I never spoke to anyone about it and would of applied if anything by form. It says that I can take it to the FOS. I have seen many people on here have success with Barclaycard and was wondering if I should write back to them or go to FOS but am at a loss as to what to reply. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Hi all, I have posted this about 4 times now and no-one has responded :(, is there anyone out there than can advise re: Barclaycard, many thanks. Donna

Write back to them stating you are not accepting their decision with the reasons you quoted and say you are referring it to the FOS, give them time to reply, if still not happy refer to FOS, don't be fobbed off.

Barclaycard paid me out without any fuss and I had no proof it was misold, i just think they have to try and turn so many down hoping you won't take it any further.

    Good Luck
  • What were you reclaiming: credit card ppi
Who was the provider: Aqua card services (aka HBOS)
How much did you get back: £1300 (£500 ppi, £770 interest, £30 8%)
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: letter
And then write your brief reclaim tale: Letter sent to several banks in early September, this is the first to reply. Monies already paid into my credit card account yesterday, leaving a tiny balance I will now wipe out.

Delighted and optimistic for the other claims.

Hi there, sorry you were "overlooked" :o

Write back and tell them that just because their staff were required to inform you of the optionality, this does not mean that they did and if they have proof of this being said to you,(as if you had a choice you would not have taken this product),then you would like to see this.
If they cannot provide this, then you would like them to reconsider your complaint. Was optionality of this product the basis for your complaint? look here for other reasons as to why you may have been mis sold and add any more that apply to you.
