PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

GE Money have replied stating that although I did have a PPI with them it was over 6 years ago, therefore they can not disclose any information about my account. But they thank me for the 1 pound asking them to send me a statement.
Any advise?

Another success!!
Halifax TMPP, sent in October, decision wasn't due until early January 2012, so well chuffed it's came in now.
Offer of just over £2500, if they are as quick as the credit card we should get it within the next week, although we'll wait and see!!
Congratulations to all those winners so far and good luck to those still waiting.
Halifax secured loan and small RBS loan to go!Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
Nine weeks and two days waiting for money from the Really Boll**ks Sharks. They sent my figures way back in August. My acceptance letter received by them on 5th Sept. If anyone from the bank reads these forums then maybe they could explain why it takes so long because you don't get any sense out of them when you ring up. Have already waited one year since AUG 2010 just to get figures. Really happy for those who put claims in this year and have been paid out but am really getting fed up with all this.:mad:0

HI
I am currently awaiting a decision from Lloydstb re PPI on my credit card but the ppi was taken out in 2003 which is outside the 6 year rule. I dont have copies of the paperwork, are they likely to turn me down for this?
Thanks

Hi all,
First time posting here although been using the site for a year or so for various advice.
I got the recent email from MSE about the PPI and have had several loans in the past. I've dug out all my paperwork from them (rarely throw anything away because I have a dreadful memory!). I have had 4 loans from them over the past 10 years. Apart from the first, each of the loans have been to pay off the previous one and free up some cash for me so each loan has been a bit higher than the last.
I have the loan agreements for the two most recent (one from 2004 ish and another from 2007) the first isn't dated so I'm relying on my memory here as I don't have statements any further back than Jan 05 and I was paying it then.
The 2007 agreement has a cover letter stating that 'along with this letter you will find a further copy of our insurance leaflet with your cancellation rights enclosed'. I don't have this 'leaflet' but it's prompted me to think that I may be paying PPI without realising.
I've done calculations on the loan amounts, term and interest rate over the term and neither loan add up to the monthly payments, calculating around £15 unaccounted for each month.
I'm planning on going into my local RBS branch tomorrow and asking for information on all historic and active loans linked to my account. Will they give this to me or would it be better sending a letter?
My other query is that all of my loans have had a early settlement 'discount' which I'm fairly sure weren't taken into consideration when I settled them with a new loan, can I reclaim this to?
Sorry for the long post and any advise would be gratefully recieved!0 -
Hi,
Haven't posted for a while but have been busy writing letters and emailing key people. To cut a long story short, FP blamed a firm called First Direct (don't exist), then blamed the under writers Jubilee after the FSCS could not help as policy pre 2005. Jubilee then blamed Lloyds. Two letters have gone back and for blaming each other and the FOS have been involved. I had my 2nd letter from Jubilee this morning again blaming FP and suggested for the 3rd time I write to Lloyds. I just forwarded the lot to FOS. It is going around in circles. Hope the FOS can put a stop to this. Won't give up though.
Also EGG are still putting up walls. It took 38 days to get a SARS report. Was not happy and mailed ICO and FOS. After all this they still did not send a copy of the phone calls that prove my complaint!! Sent a lot of key paperwork from my SARS to FOS so hopefully they can sort EGG out. It's about time someone did.

- What were you reclaiming: mortgage protection insurance
- Who was the provider: Halifax
- How much did you get back: offered £3200 - will probably get closer to £2500 due to part refund earlier
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: letter
- And then write your brief reclaim tale - will report when i get the actual check!:money:
