    Hey everyone,

I posted my letter to Santander yesterday by recorded delivery to reclaim PPI on my mortgage.

I received a phone call today saying my complaint has been upheld and they will be reimbursing all premiums & 8%!

Result or what? How easy was that & no messing about!

Here's hoping the other two lenders I also wrote to yesterday are as straightforward and quick as Santander! :)

    Congratulations Newgirl711 :j
Why can't they all be as quick as Santander
    Successes
    Sainsbury's/BOS £6,400 Paid :)
    MBNA £3,600 Paid :)

    First Plus Process

    Calculations done in Cardiff
    Calculations sent to Liverpool
Liverpool send out figures and acceptance letters
Acceptance letters go back to Cardiff stamped and put on system weeks after they receive them
6-8 weeks given as date of payment from when they are entered received on system, not when you say you sent them.
Figures re-checked in Cardiff and cheques wrote
Cheques are then sent to Liverpool
Liverpool enter on system they have received the cheques
Liverpool send out the cheques (not Cardiff)

Got this from a customer service rep who agreed with me it takes too long and we are basically being made to wait.

I was due my cheque on the 21 October exactly eight weeks after First Plus said I would. A few days before cheque was due to arrive got a letter stating they had made a calculation error and made me a new offer. I accepted this and returned acceptance papers but with covering letter stating I was not prepared to wait a further 8 weeks. Customer services said this would not be the case and I would receive my cheque within 7-10 days as it was their fault. We are now over three weeks later and after numerous calls to customer services based in Liverpool firstly I got they had not received the acceptance papers, then they suddenly turned up and now they say they are processing it, whatever that means. Liverpool is the call centre but Cardiff is where they are all processed, managed to get a number for a financial dept in Cardiff who were not happy when I got through to them and even denied they processed PPI claims there, they transferred me back to customer services in Liverpool.

Just sent an e-mail to Bob Diamond.

How can it take them nearly eight weeks to decide your calculations are wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I am lost for words.

What a long winded process no wonder it takes forever, something needs to be done here.

  • Hi every one,
Looking for some advice on behalf of my sister. She took out a barclaycard back in 2003, it is still active now, she was told at the time of sale that she had to have the ppi in order to be accepted for the card so she took it.she put in a claim 6 weeks ago on these grounds but has been rejected. They say that there is no evidence that it was misold so where does she go from there, is it up to her to prove that it was misold (this is not possable as was sold face to face) or would it be down to them to prove it was sold correctly?
Also i had a claim upheld 05/9 for loans from lloyds, money finally went into my account today after 9 weeks.
