PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi
I received a letter on 3rd October 2011 from Bank of Scotland saying they were going to refund missold PPI's. Letter said they were arranging to issue a cheque as soon as possible. Despite 3 phone calls they are unable to give me any idea when I will receive the cheque. This is very frustrating! Is anyone else still waiting for a cheque from Bank of Scotland or can anyone tell me how long they waited?:eek:0 -
Hi every one,
Looking for some advice on behalf of my sister. She took out a barclaycard back in 2003, it is still active now, she was told at the time of sale that she had to have the ppi in order to be accepted for the card so she took it.she put in a claim 6 weeks ago on these grounds but has been rejected. They say that there is no evidence that it was misold so where does she go from there, is it up to her to prove that it was misold (this is not possable as was sold face to face) or would it be down to them to prove it was sold correctly?
Also i had a claim upheld 05/9 for loans from lloyds, money finally went into my account today after 9 weeks.
Firstly tell them you are not accepting this decision and you are referring it to the FO and see what they say. If that doesn't work although it will take longer refer it to the FO, if they have no evidence showing it was misold then they have no proof it wasn't either and so its your sisters word against there's. Seeing as the FO are upholding most claims against banks your sister will probably find that she will win.0 -
Hi all, we've had a letter back from fos today saying they aren't upholding our mbna claim for charges. They're saying because they are charges earlier than 2006 we should have claimed before now! Thing is, if we knew then that they were unlawful we would have!! It's only after using this site we knew we had the right to complain! So frustrated! Is there anything else we can do? Please can someone help?
Also fla have said no to refunding ppi on burtons account as they can't tell what happened when it was sold due to it being older than six years! Is there anything we can do with both of these? Feeling slightly deflated0 -
Plus they expect me to wait another 8 weeks for my new offer.
That takes the biscuit, at the end of September I put in a claim for a missold endowment with Standard Life. Money was put in my bank account today by Bacs payment, The whole process took six weeks.
My Firstplus claim has been going on since May this year and still no money!!!!!!!!!!0 -

I was also sold over the phone when I called to activate the card I was on maternity leave at the time so some time in the summer of 2004 I reckon, I worked for a huge company at the time and had fully comprehensive sickness cover etc, I was also living with my now husband who would have supported me as I went back part time anyway, I can't remember much about the phone call but I do recall him saying that this policy would cover payments on all cards:eek:
I'll let you know when I hear back
Hi,
I haven't heard from them at all, I waited the few days that they said that I would need to for them to respond, and then sent another secure message saying I was bitterly disappointed to find that their complaints department weren't as responsive as them. The response I had was that this department had in fact forwarded my complaint to the relevant department and that I should be patient whilst they investigate. Well to be honest if I wanted patience I would have trained as a doctor!!! Patience is not one of my strong points I have to say, so I have now waited since the 18th october for some kind of response from the complaints team, patience score for me is now in a minus, all I want now is an email address for capital one then I am compelled to let them know exactly how I feel about non compliance, heehee!!
Hope you have better luck than me, and make sure you don't take any crap from them, too often we are taken for fools, not any more....:rotfl:IF HIND SIGHT WAS FORESIGHT WOULD I STILL NEED TO GO TO THE OPTICIANS???0 -
First Plus is owned by Barclays, so I can't understand why I had no issues with my Barclaycard and Barclays loan who refunded my PPI without any hassle.0

- What were you reclaiming: mortgage protection insurance
- Who was the provider: Halifax
- How much did you get back: offered £3200 - will probably get closer to £2500 due to part refund earlier
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: letter
- And then write your brief reclaim tale - will report when i get the actual check!:money:
