  • Hey everyone,

I posted my letter to Santander yesterday by recorded delivery to reclaim PPI on my mortgage.

I received a phone call today saying my complaint has been upheld and they will be reimbursing all premiums & 8%!

Result or what? How easy was that & no messing about!

Here's hoping the other two lenders I also wrote to yesterday are as straightforward and quick as Santander! :)

Think we should bombard every First Plus Finance Dept in Cardiff with calls as I did, insisting they put you through to someone who deals with PPI.

    Tel no. 0845 650 6600

Thanks for that, blow waiting until friday I will be ringing them at 9am tomorrow morning .

Santander - You have not received your cheque yet! - but good luck.
  • Every day and all day it's a new story from these fP people ...must be time for a letter to watchdog as they are taking the p out of us... or will Martin lewis bring out the big guns and find out what is really happening????
    Hi Digitiltrance and Nutty Nat

Will be emailing bob diamond Friday as my day off, gives me time to think. Apart from the fact they do not care about being in breach of THEIR promise their is no apology or correspondence to update any of the people they owe money to, shameful :(

    Hi al first plussers

Rang again this pm and eventually got through to someone who said they are in breach of the 6-8 week wait and could be up to a further 21 days on top. They also pointed out the 8% interest was more than enough redress for this. Now dont get me wrong the chap was extremely polite but quite frankly I think it is just not good enough, there is obviously nothing in place to encourage Barclays to pay on time as they clearly are not concerned in the slightest.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

This is just unbeliveable to make a customer wait eleven weeks for there payment, when we waited the full sixteen weeks in the first place.

What a load of ---- they are :mad:

Keep us posted with how you get on and good luck.

I agree a letter to say your payment will be late is what they should be doing. To say nothing makes it even worse as we don't know where we stand!!!!!!!!!!:(

    Here we go again
So here we are now a week over my deadline date for us to receive the cheque . In the last few days my wife has called about 14 times and heard many different stories yesterday we where told we would receive the cheque today ...after a no show again we have been told … the cheque won't be coming for another 7 to 10 days (working days ). This is because of the sheer weight of cheques that have to be processed . It is beyond my understanding how it was going to take 8 weeks to process my cheque in the first place, now it could be over 10 weeks …. I think what we have here is what David Icke would call a hidden agenda.

My over active mind has many ideas but my wife and I think it is attempt to manipulate the Christmas shopping figures. If all theses cheques hit the public late November early December they hope we will go out and blow the lot ...well it's not like we have any safe place to put the money as the economy crashes down around our ears....

Ok maybe the stress has just finally addled my brain , but I can not in my wildest dreams put it down to incompetence, as these banks new exactly how much they would have to pay out and how long they could string it along, so they could make the maximum amount of interest on our money before having to paying it back .

I hope the above info is helpful to other first plus customers...Oh yes and we were told today that our figure has been adjusted to take into account the delay and stress caused , no surprises that when pressed on a figure for that they couldn't say ….I doubt it will be the same amount they would charge us a day if we where defaulting.

This is just terrible I just don't know what to say to you, the treatment we have to put up with from them is awful.

I will post in the morning how I get on when i call them in the morning.
