  • We were offered a PPI settlement of over £3000 on 16th August we have not received a penny!

Everytime we contact them they tell us they can not give us a timescale so when we ask to speak to a manager they tell us there are no managers about and no point in talking to one as they won't tell us anything different.

Unfortunately we started this process a long time ago and with a handler too :( as at the time we were unaware of the ease MSE had made it and to be honest they aren't much use either although are very pleasant.

Apparently my partner should be getting a call today at 3pm from a manager of Bank of Scotland to apologise for our treatment but we will see!
  • Have received a reply today stating they are sending my complaint to their complaints department, mmm, interesting how yesterday they couldn't help me!!
    Let the games begin.......

how are you getting on with this, I'm 4 weeks into my claim with them, they have another 4 weeks to respond to me.

I was also sold over the phone when I called to activate the card I was on maternity leave at the time so some time in the summer of 2004 I reckon, I worked for a huge company at the time and had fully comprehensive sickness cover etc, I was also living with my now husband who would have supported me as I went back part time anyway, I can't remember much about the phone call but I do recall him saying that this policy would cover payments on all cards:eek:

I'll let you know when I hear back
    MBNA Upheld £20,663.63 2/11/11, cheque recieved 25/11/11 :j
    Capital One Upheld 11/11/11 £2793.21 cheque recieved 2/12/11 :j
Santander rejected by them 11/11/11, counter rejected by me 17/11/11. x2 letters advising they need another 4 weeks and then another rejection:rotfl:
  • :j :j :j hooray also recieved my letter today giving me a new figure for the delay ( i had rung again monday so i knew it was coming ) and was very very surprised to find that my £1925.43 had been paid in today :j i was 1 day short of 8 weeks from offer letter it has been a long 25 weeks since i first sent in my complaint !!! but finally Lloyds seem to have got their act together. I hope everyone else gets theirs sorted soon as well and seeing as i i dont owe anyone anything at the mo i am looking forward to some new furniture

  • :o can anyone tell me if i can send £1 and request a copy of an agreement with no account number? have the pre contract info and bank statements showing that my oh was paying ppi on aloan with a&l in 2008/2009 but no account number/loan agreement number all shredded now. would we be better to send a sar request instead? a&l have already upheld a ppi missale complaint we submitted in oct on a joint loan(we did have that account number) but didnt even look at this loan in my hubbys name and another( no paperwork either) that i had. any ideas? i dont want to phone them as i have so little info thanks in advance! x

Sounds like we're on the same schedule - we've rung the Halifax a couple of times and got the "cant give you an update" line.Just a case of waiting by the look of things
  • Here we go again
So here we are now a week over my deadline date for us to receive the cheque . In the last few days my wife has called about 14 times and heard many different stories yesterday we where told we would receive the cheque today ...after a no show again we have been told … the cheque won't be coming for another 7 to 10 days (working days ). This is because of the sheer weight of cheques that have to be processed . It is beyond my understanding how it was going to take 8 weeks to process my cheque in the first place, now it could be over 10 weeks …. I think what we have here is what David Icke would call a hidden agenda.

My over active mind has many ideas but my wife and I think it is attempt to manipulate the Christmas shopping figures. If all theses cheques hit the public late November early December they hope we will go out and blow the lot ...well it's not like we have any safe place to put the money as the economy crashes down around our ears....

Ok maybe the stress has just finally addled my brain , but I can not in my wildest dreams put it down to incompetence, as these banks new exactly how much they would have to pay out and how long they could string it along, so they could make the maximum amount of interest on our money before having to paying it back .

I hope the above info is helpful to other first plus customers...Oh yes and we were told today that our figure has been adjusted to take into account the delay and stress caused , no surprises that when pressed on a figure for that they couldn't say ….I doubt it will be the same amount they would charge us a day if we where defaulting.

As you have probably guessed no Firstplus cheques have arrived today and there eight weeks is up today.

I have sent Mr Diamond an e-mail asking for compensation, I will give Firstplus another call on Friday. :(

I was told as I've written above another 7/10 days it will be good to see what they tell you
  • Oh not good news at all. Sounds like First Plus are thinking of many excuses to delay things. How long can it possibly take to open post stamp it and send on to the next department (if thats the process).

Nutty Nat - Hopefully you will receive a reply from your email. How much interest should we charge???

Hi, I hope I am writing this in the correct place. I am fighting the PPI fight for my Mum and I wrote to Natwest in August this year enclosing a letter and a questionnaire from the Natwest website. They have finally written back today (about 10weeks later) and offered her £3401.83. She has been with the Natwest for over 25 years and has had numerous loans with them particularly within the last 10 years for home improvements etc. She has had loans that consolidated other loans and cards and to be frank I think this seems like quite a low amount. She has minimal paper work so in the original letter I asked for a full investigation into all of the loans she that had been ACTIVE within the last six years. (I was under the impression this was the cut of point) On some of the paperwork it was obvious that the loan was in joint names and the cover only covered my dad so I wanted all of the other loans that had perhaps finished due to consolidation to be looked into. In the letter they have sent back today they have only listed 2 loans one which is active and one which is settled, there aren't any details of how they have calculated the figure and she actually has 3 loans active at the moment all with PPI yet they only seem to have considered the one. They have implied that due to the length of time passed and the fact that some loans were consolidation this is 'a goodwill gesture'. Mum seems to think they might send another letter regarding the other loans, but I am not convinced. There is no mention of interest or any explanation of their calculations. Has anybody has similar experiences with Natwest and do you think I should write back and ask for some calculations? Are they relying on people needing the money and taking their first offer? sorry for the massive rant : )
