Well done welshneo :T glad you never stopped your DD :D
Well it was still on the card until today! I'm glad it didn't come to that :)
  • Hello First Plus claimers. Must have been a busy day for them today as my husband rang them too. Was told my cheques would be with us by 14 Dec (8 weeks) at the latest. Never mentioned any backlog they are having.

Nutty Nat, Digitaltrance, spaniellover - Heres hoping you wont have to wait too long. I think they have a delay but dont want to say. Surely it doesnt take that long to issue cheques. When should we be starting to add interest on these extra days????

Well done to all the others that have received offers/cheques

    Zoe
  • Today I went to my local LLoyds TSB branch to pay some money into my current account. I checked balance before making out paying in slip and to my surprise the final 2 payments from LLoyds had hit my account before the date I was expecting them. In total LLoyds have paid back over £13,000 for payment protection for loans I have had from them. 3 of them were for loans I had back in 1990's which they automatically assessed themselves without me asking.

Good news for you Zoe, but I think you are right they don't want to admit they have a backlog until you get to eight week's. I will be asking for compensation if mine go over my date. :D

    Hi All,

I am going completely loopy with Halifax at the moment with my PPI payments claim. I have two cards, both paid in full and closed which I am claiming for.. I sent the template from MSE in May and got a reply in July to say they will refund plus 8% interest.

I have called them a few times since recieving the letter to find out how long it will take, 1st call - i was told approx 7-8 wks, 2nd call - oh we cant give you timeframe and the amounts havent been worked out yet..call today....same answer!

I really do not have the time to keep calling and chasing them !! Has anyone got anything of Hailfax...Im thinking of writing a letter of complaint...

I am in the same boat as you. I've been waiting over 2 months now for my calcs and I have phoned them every week. I always get the same answer as yours i.e. can't give you a timeframe. It's absolutely ridiculous! If it was the other way round and we owed the bank money, i'm sure we'd be hounded everyday. I've lost hope in seeing my money this side of Xmas.

Hi there, the 2851.32+648.66 is the redress that they are paying you, this includes the 8%.
As you were in arrears, they can take these off the redress and give you the remainder, that is what they have done.
A credit card 8% is not the same as a loan, your account will have been reworked and any credit balance will not attract the 8%,as the ppi was cancelled in 2006 you would not have paid ppi to the date of your redress and will not get the 8% as this is paid to the date of cancellation.
Hi, Looks like I got it totally wrong then. my mistake. Thankyou for putting me right before we speak to them tomorrow.
Would there be any point in trying to get them to reduce the amount they are paying off the arrears. We are pleased that they have upheld the claim, and would have liked some of the money to have gone off the c/c but not really that much as we are on an agreed repayment programme that we are keeping to.

Similar position with RBS, i'm waiting to pay one department with some of the redress, so i've asked them to put some internal pressure on the ppi team, before they pressure me for the money, they even called my debt back from the debt collection agency and cancelled my repayment DD, so i've basically said they will be the first to be repaid but they aint get another penny or pound until i'm repaid the ppi first, they've delayed things for another week or so, but i put it in writing to them too to say that before they pressure me for the money to go after the ppi team first, we'll see if it works or not.
Also got another request to confirm my signature at a local branch, but rather than argue and question it, I just went and done it, would spend too long trying to get through to the call centre.
    Good luck all.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Sorry me again. Just trying to understand what you told me and trying to get my head around it. Cant quite understand what the difference is between say finishing a loan early and they pay the interest up to now, and cancelling the PPI on a credit card early. I know I am be rather thick but dont really know too much about all this as new to it all. As I have put claims in on 3 credit cards just want to understand it better. We did have a claim upheld with Barclays for a loan which we early settled in 2002, which they paid interest @ 8% to date so just assumed this was the same.
  • Hi all. I've not seen much on here about any Barclays loan payouts for a while. Has anyone had any recent success? My 40 days are up in a couple of weeks but it seems to have gone rather quiet on here.
