Hi I am new to this website but have found it to be an invaluable source of knowledge in helping me to do my own PPI reclaims. I have had success with Sainsbury's whom I had 3 loans with, they have upheld the claim on the last loan but I have not had a figure back yet even though I sent the acceptance letter in August!! They also did not take into account the 2 previous loans I had with them but I called them today and they said all 3 loans were ready to be calculated but they just had a backlog, so fingers crossed I should hear soon.

My main concern is Barclaycard, I received a letter from them to say"Our sales process used at the time of sale required our staff to state that the policy was optional and we can find no reason to suggest that optionality was not discussed with you. This would also have been disclosed in the pre and post sales literature which was sent to you."

To be honest I cannot remember how I originally applied for my Barclaycard as it was 20 years ago, but I am sure I never spoke to anyone about it and would of applied if anything by form. It says that I can take it to the FOS. I have seen many people on here have success with Barclaycard and was wondering if I should write back to them or go to FOS but am at a loss as to what to reply. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Could anyone help with the above please??
and WTG to all those overnight posters that received their letters/cheques :T:T:j:j:beer:

    Hi everyone,
I have just had a strange phone call from LTSB. I asked for the guy's number so I could ring him back to make sure that I was not talking with a fraud. Background is that I submitted 7 claims to LTSB around 24th August. 2 were for business loans. One live and one paid off. This guy just asked me a load of questions about the selling of these loans. I told him that which I stated on phone before that I was not made aware of the PPI and what it was and that it was optional. I told him that the guys came to my house and they went on about Critical Illness cover and life assurance but did not explain the PPI or tell me about that. I told him that the loan agreement came with the X in the box for the PPI pre completed - not done by me. He asked me about other insurances I had etc. I told him that I was full time employed with other cover and savings. When I asked him what this was about he said that he was looking into my case and that he would take all the facts into account and that I would get a letter in 7 days time.
Can you guys tell me is the norm as to how this part of the process goes ? Does this look good or bad for my case ? When I tried to push this guy on what it looked like he wouldnt budge and said I would have a decision in 7 days time.

Decided to give Firstplus a call this morning, all the calculations are done but was told that the cheque has still not been issued.:mad::mad::mad:

This will never arrive for tomorrow, I will call them back on Friday when I will be at eight weeks and two days.

This really isn't acceptable if I owed them money they would hound me constantly. :(:(:mad:
So sorry to hear that they have not even sent it, I rang again today just on the offchance and they assurred me they will reach us by the eight week end, lets keep fingers and toes crossed x :D

had a text from them, they are running a week behind

Or in some cases a year behind. If I owed them money it would affect my credit rating. Can we send the bailiffs in? LOL

Hi, I received my cheque from RBS last Friday, my acceptance letter was sent to them on 13 September, had the 4 weeks letter, then cheque Friday. As I said in my post on Friday cheque was dated 12 October !!! but not posted out until 1st November, so looks like cheques are being written, but waiting on being posted out. Mine was a loan with Direct Line. Also, as I understand it there are different departments for different loans/credit cards that were underwritten by RBS, as the person I spoke to way back when advised me she only dealt with loans sold through Direct Line, bit of useful info for you RBS lot out there. Hope you get yours soon though, good luck everyone.

My acceptance letter was posted to them on Aug 27th, Rec by them on Sept 5th but original claim was put in in August last year. Advised it would go straight into my account. Fingers crossed.

As you may have read i won my case and have been refunded the PPI plus 8% interest total is £5510.

However, its has yet to be paid into my account and when i called to ask about this they said they have no time frame. They did say that complaints settled in August are being paid now which could suggest that with mine being settled now might mean (using the same time frame) that mine is paid in Feburary!!

Well this is simply not good enough. My loan balance at this time is £3720 so if they pay me £5510 today, i could settle that loan. Instead, they retain money that is rightly mine whilst i have to continue to pay off the loan which as we all know incures daily interest and of the £228 i pay each month, only £146 actually reduces the loan, the other £82 is interest. If i allow them to treat me in this 'single file' manner then i'll be paying £246 more than if they release my money today. And i'm not wanting to pay more than i have too.. Obviously.

I have made this point to LloydsTSB today and a complaint has been processed and someone "will get back to you Mr O'Brien" but i won't hold my breath...

    Can anyone please advice further??
I have considered logging into internet banking and cancelling the direct debit but i may be causing myself a world of pain if i do that. Or will i?

Any suggestions welcome and thanks inadvance.
    Neil.
    GOOD NEWS!!!

I just received a call from LloydsTSB admin department. They have heard my complaint and are happy to pay it sooner than they otherwise would have. They gave me a preliminary date of 23rd of November but will call me back shortly as there is a possibility that they can pay it BACS into my account today!

They also said that the time frame I was given (August complainants paid in November) is now shorter as they have cleared the lion share of the backlog. It's all down hill from here :)

I hope what they are saying is true. When you say August complaints do you mean those made in August or those who got their offer in August?

Because my situation is no different to yours from what I can see. I want the money to pay off debt with Lloyds and my complaint was made in May, so could you please post to say when you get the cash?

That way I will have some ammo to go at them with if I don't get mine very shortly.
