Is today a Halifax day? :rotfl::rotfl:
I've also received a letter today from them. They'll be repaying me back £4,344 for the 2 loans (better than the £48 I was paid recently :rotfl:). I'm now sorted :j:jSECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:

Hi all, we've had a letter back from fos today saying they aren't upholding our mbna claim for charges. They're saying because they are charges earlier than 2006 we should have claimed before now! Thing is, if we knew then that they were unlawful we would have!! It's only after using this site we knew we had the right to complain! So frustrated! Is there anything else we can do?0

I've just had a reponse from HSBC and am getting almost £2000 back on a claim over loan ppi! (which does include a loss of intrest at 8%)
I simply said that by taking the loan out over the phone I did not feel that they explained all the beenfits properly and because of my age they exploited my lack of knowledge (i was 19 at the time).
They took a total of 10 weeks to respond from start to finish, have had to sign a letter to say I've accepted the payment and it will take another 4 weeks to hit my account.
Without all the encouragment on here I dont think I ever would have put in the claim-so if anyone is ever in any doubt about claiming-DO IT-just takes a letter!
Thanks guys! :j
I'm hoping I won't be waiting much longer. I've been waiting 12 weeks so far, so fingers crossed no news is good news0 -
As you may have read i won my case and have been refunded the PPI plus 8% interest total is £5510.
However, its has yet to be paid into my account and when i called to ask about this they said they have no time frame. They did say that complaints settled in August are being paid now which could suggest that with mine being settled now might mean (using the same time frame) that mine is paid in Feburary!!
Well this is simply not good enough. My loan balance at this time is £3720 so if they pay me £5510 today, i could settle that loan. Instead, they retain money that is rightly mine whilst i have to continue to pay off the loan which as we all know incures daily interest and of the £228 i pay each month, only £146 actually reduces the loan, the other £82 is interest. If i allow them to treat me in this 'single file' manner then i'll be paying £246 more than if they release my money today. And i'm not wanting to pay more than i have too.. Obviously.
I have made this point to LloydsTSB today and a complaint has been processed and someone "will get back to you Mr O'Brien" but i won't hold my breath...
Can anyone please advice further??
I have considered logging into internet banking and cancelling the direct debit but i may be causing myself a world of pain if i do that. Or will i?
Any suggestions welcome and thanks inadvance.

Frustrating I know Neil  don't cancel your direct debit however upset you feel, it will create all sorts of hurt and probably prolong your payout even further. Email the CEO (not sure what bank we are dealing with here) and put him/her in the picture and then wait to see what they come back with. You have won your case and you will get paid at some point, really maddening when you want to settle the loan as you say, stick with it and put some pressure on the CEO
