PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi and welcome.
Well done on your success!
If they have upheld your complaint, this means you will get every single penny plus the relevant interest, and they must put you back in the position as if you had no ppi.
You could ask them for a written breakdown.
Congratulations!
I would strong advise that you decline this offer from Blackhorse and take it to the FOS this is not a full refund + 8% this is a pro rata rebate and can add up to several thousand pounds less that what you should be expecting the very fact that Blackhorse can put the word upheld in these letters is scandulous and how they have been getting away with it astounds me.0 -
Hi I am new to this website but have found it to be an invaluable source of knowledge in helping me to do my own PPI reclaims. I have had success with Sainsbury's whom I had 3 loans with, they have upheld the claim on the last loan but I have not had a figure back yet even though I sent the acceptance letter in August!! They also did not take into account the 2 previous loans I had with them but I called them today and they said all 3 loans were ready to be calculated but they just had a backlog, so fingers crossed I should hear soon.
My main concern is Barclaycard, I received a letter from them to say"Our sales process used at the time of sale required our staff to state that the policy was optional and we can find no reason to suggest that optionality was not discussed with you. This would also have been disclosed in the pre and post sales literature which was sent to you."
To be honest I cannot remember how I originally applied for my Barclaycard as it was 20 years ago, but I am sure I never spoke to anyone about it and would of applied if anything by form. It says that I can take it to the FOS. I have seen many people on here have success with Barclaycard and was wondering if I should write back to them or go to FOS but am at a loss as to what to reply. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.0 -
Hope i am posting in the right place, wrote to Barclaycard about 7 weeks ago, they responded within a week or 2 saying they were dealing with it, and today received an offer of £5865.85 for one of the PPi claims i put in! i am very pleased and accepted the offer, which will be paid straight into my account, hopefully before Xmas!! :-) i have not posted in this topic before but have read all the advice, so TYVM and i will update when i get my Money!!
Hi Madmish, what were your reasons for saying the PPI was missold? I have just been refused by Barclaycard so am just curious. Big congrats to you though!! :T Many thanks Donna0 -
These people hearing off barclaycard so quickly, I'm jealous.0

Hi Everyone
Just thought I would share with everyone my PPI success on a payout. Got home from work on Friday and there were two letters awaiting me from the postman.
Opened number one and it was from Halifax saying that they will be paying me £1200.00. Opened number two and it was the cheque. The strange thing is though - the cheque letter is dated prior to the offer letter. Either way success!!!

Hi Anaylore, mine has been going on 6 months, had about 3 letters saying would reply by x, then by x, then by x, then got the decline, just hoping for some advice for a counter argument. They seem very knowledgable on this site and because of them I have had success with Sainsbury's but just do not know the amount as yet. Fingers crossed for a nice Christmas present
. Hope you hear soon.

I was successful in claiming back credit card PPI from:-
MBNA - £5,044.53
£2,079.03
Barclaycard - £54,426.66
Halifax - £3,791.81
All with the help for Martin Lewis and the Ombudsman.
I had paid PPI for many many years, when I lost my job, started my own company and the work dried up due to the reccession. They claimed that I was no covered. i successfully argued that they didn't state that if ever I started my own company, I would not be covered.
Thank you Martin, You are definitely my Hero. Thank you doesn't seem enough to say for what you do.0 -
Back in September I wrote letters to all my credit card & loan providers that I have dealt with over the years. I have received acknowledgements from the majority of them stating that they are investigating my compliant, however I have recently received:-
£13,500 from Cahoot for my flexible loan
£18,300 from one of my MBNA credit cards
So far a total of approximately £32,000 has been repaid and I am still awaiting the results from
MBNA (2nd Card)
Egg Loan
Egg Credit Card
Sainsburys Credit Card
Debenhams Store Card
House of Fraser Store Card
Capital One Credit Card
HSBC
If they reply in the same vain I will be a very happy bunny.
Cahoot have just paid for my BMW X5!!!0 -
I had a loan with HSBC which had about £3000 left on it. I complained about being missold PPI and they took ages to process the claim, but came back with an offer of repaying the remaining loan and a lump sum of £1300. I then complained that as they'd taken so long to process another loan payment had been taken which would have otherwise been included in the offer. They then refunded me a further two months worth of loan payments. I have now use this and the lump sum to pay of my remaining debts and I AM NOW DEBT FREE, and still have £300 to tide me over to the end of the month!!! :jTotal debt 30/08/08 £21,806.91  I'm proud to have finally woken up and be starting to deal with it. DFD: June 2013
Total debt 30/01/11 £10,586Still going!
New DFD March 2012!!! :j
7th November 2011 - I AM NOW DEBT FREE!!! :beer:0 -
