Help Please
My partner had a letter Barclays saying that she would get around £5500 refund for PPI, in the next 40days (but they said on the letter it could be less confused). she had this letter in sept. how quick are barclays sending cheques out to people???
Second problem she had a letter from Intelligent Finance, say they are not repsonible for PPI onthere loans and have given her the address of the company which deals with this, I thought that the loan was applied though IF and all paper work says IF, should they not deal with it, they have said she can goto the FSO. She applied online and they say that she had 30 days to cancel any insurance but we never had details of such insurance, are the just lieing to us???0 -
What were you reclaiming: loan
Who was the provider: santander (abbeyloan)
How much did you get back: £781.00
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: sent 1 letter to santander on 31.8.11. received offer letter on 31.10.11
And then write your brief reclaim tale original loan was applied for in branch, i was advised i would need to also have ppi, and that this would be needed for my loan application to be concidered. After reading all the stories on here, this gave me the confidence to complain to several companies regarding loans. have had a couple of rejections, but im still in dispute with them. but thankyou to everyone for posting there encouring stories. and congrat to everyone else on there successes0 -
If we owe these banks what they owe us all and delayed payment, how long do u think it would before a court letter and a visit from bailiffs would be coming. I'll be checking my account again today and sending a few more emails to Lloyds.
What email address are you contacting them on?
I tried the phones but all i get is robots and the occassional human robot.0 -
Hey guys, would appreciate your help on this one. Had a ppi claim rejected the other day for a loan, taken out in 1999 and settled a year later. In short was rejected because paperwork was destroyed after six years, so HFC have no record of any ppi sale. When I sent them ppi questionnaire in September also attached some papers I found which were, confirmation of loan with 'credit protection insurance' and my last statement, showing monthly loan amount. Nothing specific about the sale but definitely that ppi was on loan.
Not sure what my next move should be. Try and get HFC to reconsider or straight to FOS?0 -

I have had my claim upheld with Barclays...loans I forgot I had taken out, even!!
They sent the settlement figures, and the money was already in the bank!
I was nervous about claiming against my own bank, but thanks to Di, who encouraged me to get on with it!:)
It is always worth the price of a stamp, and the time to write a letter, and thanks to everyone here for their support!!
On with the fight against Capital One...

hi everyone ..... have been a regular observer here and wondered if anyone can help with an offer recieved from black horse.
it basically says complaint upheld , then says offering pro rata payment , this is 1 of 5 claims i have sent to blackhorse, there is also a form of acceptance to sign .... is this what everyone gets? im unsure what to do.
thanks in advance mandy
Hi and welcome.
Well done on your success!
If they have upheld your complaint, this means you will get every single penny plus the relevant interest, and they must put you back in the position as if you had no ppi.
You could ask them for a written breakdown.

Is this a common excuse for turning down complaints? My two complaints (Northern Rock loan and Lloyds CC) are heavily based around the fact that I qualified for sick pay and redundancy payments so may not have been able to claim. has anyone else had refunds from Lloyds or NR purely for these reasons.
Thanks
J
Hi
Yes it is in my opinion, and whenever I have been told this, I tell them, its not the point, the point is the PPI would not cover/protect me in full and paying full PPI is waste of time and worthless to me.
Keep at them x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Good day to you all, can someone help I had a letter from HSBC yesterday they are going to re-pay my mis-sold PPI for a Flexi Loan I had in back in 2000 to 2001. Problem it says on the letter that they do not hold statements going that far, I never had any statements, does this mean I will not get a payout if I cannot provide a statement for them. I they know when it was started and finished so surley they know how much is was for (i cannot remember how much it was for). So my letter came with no figures
can anyone help or advise please
Second question I had another letter from Sainsbury Bank (Bank of Scotland) come on the begining of Sept for PPI against my credit card I had with them sine 2001 to present date, I cancelled the PPI back in 2006. They accepted my claim for mis-selling i had to sign a form send it back to them they had this around 9th Sept. 2011. I still not ad any figures yet I have called them and they do not know when they will be sending payment to me. Can anyone shed any light one how credit card PPI refunds work. I have £5100 limit which it has been maxed out almost all the time.
Finally any congrats to all winnersand thanks to MAtin and his team for making us all aware of this situation.
Hi there
Well done on your success!
I have had 2 the same with Lloyds, where they offered a standard goodwill on the both of the same amount because they no longer held data going back to the mid 90's.
They must though hold data going back to at least the last 6 years, where some will hold data even longer.
Anything you may find in paperwork you could send and ask if they will reconsider going back earlier with the details provided, or try calling into a local HSBC and maybe they will hold the direct details, maybe worth a shot if you've not tried already, good luck.
I understand Credit Card PPI refunds differ to Loan PPI calculations, hopefully someone will be along to explain in more details later, but for now, check on how the FOS calculated refunds below link (when a bank/business uphold they should calculate in the same guidelines as the FOS).

Hi
Well done on your success!
Its difficult to predict a timescale on when to expect to receive the refunds, due to backlogs, but no harm in giving them a call or eve call in a local branch, where they may call on your behalf if your unable to get through to the direct number which I assume would be very busy, and somehow bank staff are likely to get through by using another direct number. Good luck.
I understood that IF were a broker and not the lender and if this is the case then IF are responsible for adding PPI on the loan.
They are not getting confused with a claim to a reclaim by any chance perhaps?
I would otherwise contact the FOS on the general customer query line and you could ask them on your behalf to check who are then responsible, tell them IF are confusing you because as far as you know its was actually IF that sold and set up the account.
Or write or ring IF and tell them as it was sold online, you completed a IF application form so this means that it was IF responsibility and they also arranged the PPI.
Good luck.
Details of how to contact the FOS on free phone below, you may take a little time to get through but as stated its free.;)
