It is well worth the time to write a letter to them you never know...............:j

On the 18th August I sent a letter to reclaim PPI to clydesdale bank & Black Horse for loans I had taken out, i wasn't going to send the letters as I had a went bankrupt and finished my trust deed 3 year ago. i also had no account details I just sent a standard letter to both
two weeks later I get a reply from both saying they are looking into my claim.
On the 5th of October I received a letter from Black Horse saying that I was not succesfull in my claim. they say i had signed to agree to the PPI, but i always remember if i ddint sign to agree to the PPI I wouldnt have got the loan at the time.
7th October I receive a letter from the Clydesdale bank saying they will be sending me £1,240.00, all i had to do was fill in the form with my details. also they will reduce my balance by £453.00 with finance services. this is the balance after the trust deed i take it.
Form sent that night & today the money was paid into my account
Well done on your success!
Keep fighting on the one rejected, that is a standard rejection, stand your ground, write back and ask them to reconsider as a valued customer you have made a genuine complaint and the staff had no right in making you take out the ppi, tell them you now believe it was poor customer service and that the FSA expect customers to be treated fairly and when being sold a product, but you don't believe it was sold in your best interest at the time.
Ask if they will reconsider by 14 days, if you hear nothing or if they change nothing then complain to the FOS.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hello. Can anyone suggest how to get RBS to reply to me regarding my claim for missold PPI. They made an offer in the sum of £2018.15 and then sent me a cheque for just over £1500 - a shortfall of over £480 on what I accepted. I have not cashed their cheque as their letter said it was in 'full and final settlement of my claim'. When I call them they just tell me that the Payment Department will need to deal with it - and then tell me that the Payment Dept do not take telephone calls. I have tried sending a fax to them asking for an explanation of the shortfall and still get no response. Any ideas how I get them to respond?
Hi
Yes, as suggested to many on here and for hopefully a quicker response, contact your local MP and explain the situation, ask if he or she will write to them on your behalf, and to send you copies of the letter sent and copies of any correspondence received.
Good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi all, first started reclaiming my mortgage ppi against central trust nearly two years ago and been with fos for 15 months, finally today i recieved a letter from fos to say they have made a final decision in my favour, took a long time but the good news is worth the wait, does anyone know how soon they will pay out?
This is brilliant news!:T Congratulations!
I take it the FOS have also sent you an acceptance form for you to sign?
As soon as you send it back to the FOS/Adjudicator, they will pass a copy on to Central Trust, and ask them to contact you in order to pay the refund.
What I would do is contact the FOS and ask them on a timescale, as it may differ from one business to the other, they should be able to confirm, and they will also suggest that you contact them back if you have not heard within that timescale given. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I had a Loan whith HSBC which I upgraded a couple of times to consolidate my debt. 3 loans in total. Each with a PPI.
I used the template and filled in the questioaire to mentined most the points in which I believe that the PPI was missold to me (such as it was optional, that I had sickness cover from my current employer, etc). I have been offered over £6000 which shows how much I ave been rip off over the years!!!!
Many thanks for your help Martin.

Three weeks ago I wrote to Mbna asking for them to review my case on a whim after hsbc paid my claim after a long battle through the ombudsman.. I thought for the cost of a letter I may get lucky.. Today I got a letter offering me 4800 minus the original £700 so I have s cheque in the post for £4200.
No arguing, no ombudsman just straight up payment. Happy Xmas me.
Fantastic work all round!:T:j Congratulations!:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"

hello Can somebody give me some advise please.
i made a claim for ppi through a company and they did a good job, not long after i put in this claim i also put in a claim for a dro, this was because i could not afford to pay my creditors, i owed around £14000 to around 5 creditors. my claim was against Clydesdale bank for the ppi, Clydesdale bank told the receiver that they were going to pay £1300 into my account and take the rest as part payment off a loan i still owed them, Clydesdale bank however did not tell us anything, we knew nothing of this until the receiver wrote to us to say that my debt relief order had been revoked because i was going to receive this payment from Clydesdale bank. This was only 6 weeks before my dro was to end clearing all my debts.
I at no time signed to except this agreement, i would not have accepted the agreement because the company that dealt with my ppi had already told me that my dro would be revoked because i would have more than £300 in my bank account, basically Clydesdale bank in formed the receiver about my ppi claim and then paid the £1300 in to my bank and told them of this also all without my agreement to it, my dro is then revoked and i owe all my creditors again including Clydesdale bank another £7000, i feel that everything clydesdale bank has done as been underhand and unfair, i asked the ombudsman to look at this but they say the bank have done nothing wrong, how can a bank get away with not getting me to sign an agreement, i have appealed and awaiting to hear the outcome, i may then have to take the bank to court with all the facts.
cheers
john.
Wishing you luck on this John and hope this resolved soon, hopefully someone will have some advice on this for you too, good luck

Hi,
Had a final rejection letter today from Capital One ref a cc PPI claim id sent them. I was sold the PPI over the phone not when I took the card out and I stupidly agreed to a persuasive salesman. I sent in my complaint form detailing the fact that I was a Civil Servant with comprehensive sick/redundancy cover already and also that I had a pre existing medical condition I was never asked about. Their reply was that Id agreed to accept a limited Terms and Conditions explanation over the phone and that most people were entitled to statutory sick pay from their employer, and their cover was to make up any shortfall or help with financial hardship. My sick pay includes full pay for up to 12 months so therefore there wouldnt be any shortfall.
As I said it was a final rejection letter, so my question is should I write to them again restating my case or go straight to the FOS? (or not at all)!
Any advice greatly appreciated.0 -
What were you reclaiming:(eg. loan, credit card, store card):Loan
Who was the provider:(e.g. Capital One, NatWest)Firstplus
How much did you get back: £33845.54:beer:
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:: One phone call only
And then write your brief reclaim tale
Been lurking for several months one phone call made no expectations but after reading all the posts on this site fairly confident I had a case ie Must take PPI but no problem just regard as a saving scheme. money back after 5 years no mention that it ends after 5 years but continues to be paid as part of loan, no discussion about financial suitability ie full sick pay for both me and wife and the fact that I have never taken PPI out (too mean, too poor, too Scottish) received uphold letter today 11 weeks (one week before deadline) payout 6 to 8 weeks from receipt of acceptance:rotfl: good luck to all other Firstplus claimants just do it its your money:)0
