just received an offer from bos for £2200 after 21 weeks!this is great except that i had this card for 10 years and paid between £12 and £34 per monh ppi. they have calculated the last 6 years only and the 8% interest is only £167.39.should i accept or challenge this? the card had an interest rate of 23.9% and they havent calculated this into the offer. should they refund the interest too? confused!!!!0

Nutty Nat and Spaniellover - Hope you get your cheques soon, this is driving me mad all this waiting, better be worth it in the end. I still have til the end of Nov for my 6 weeks!
Thanks for the kind words

If I was you I would give them a call on Monday just to give them a little reminder that you are at the six week mark.
Good luck I hope it arrives for you next week xx0 -

Gave them a call Friday and will again next Friday, they say they are not running behind and have to pay at 8 weeks, so hopefully good news for you next week. xIf I was you I would give them a call on Monday just to give them a little reminder that you are at the six week mark.

As far as i am aware, you get 8% on the ppi payments per month and not the total loan payment,i hope someone else can either clarify this or correct me if i am wrong,i work the 8% this way and my claims previous have worked out right. Thanks but I think there's a bit of a misunderstanding here. The repayments should have been £216.88 a month, with £32.16 in ppi. If my sister has paid £300 a month, that's just over £50 excess. So my question is, if she does this for twelve months (which she did in 2009) that would total £600 in overpayments. Therefore, would an additional 8% of that £600 be added to it and count towards paying off the total outstanding amount, or would it just remain at £600?
Thanks.0 -
Thank you, thats what i think,8% is only paid on the actual monthly ppi that was paid to date and not on the loan payment.Well now first let me say that I am not an expert, but overpayments are not really relevant. If the repayments are a fixed amount each month, then your sister would only have been paying £32.16 in PPI premiums each month. It will only be the PPI payments that are refunded with 8% interest, the overpayments are pretty much irrelevant. But perhaps some more learned folks than me will know different!
This 8% is on a decreasing scale as you will have been deprived of this money for less time as the loan or mis sell nears completion.0 -

Hopefully a wee query can get answered, with regards to missus PPI claim with HBOS.She received same letter as myself, stating moneys would be refunded to card and subsequently a cheque would be sent out.Now she is on a DMP and her card is in slight arrears with this.If all the money was to be credited to her account I assume her letter would have stated this and would say nothing about a cheque being sent out?Hope I've explained clearly...Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?0
